Author: C. E. Ormon
ETCAI is a computer assisted instructional system
designed for electronics and electricity training. The system
includes 31 exercises which present, grade, and score
problems made up of randomly selected components and
parameters. Extensive graphics are used with a simple
"pull down" and "push button" user interface. On-line
help is available in many exercises. The material is
designed to be useful at the high school, community college
,and trade school levels. ETCAI is intended to be used for
several training purposes including drill and practice,
competency development, competency testing, remediation,
and placement determination. ETCAI should be an useful
companion to a number of electronics and electrical
computer based and paper based tutorials. Topics covered
include AC and DC circuits, Digital Principles, and
transistors. Exercises are included to develop analysis
skills, circuit action understanding, and troubleshooting
ability.
