  1. Sort Help                          dbLite can sort on any line you    choose to configure your file and  labels and reports as you would    01                                                                                                                     like to see them.                  To try out a sort, select          [Record Sort] from the main menu   then tell the program to sort on   02                                                                                                                     Aaa                                line 1.  As you can see, this      reorders the way you view each     record, making this record #1      03                                                                                                                     Aab                                Now if you resort by line 5, it    will return us to the original     order of our records.              04                                                                                                                     Aac                                You can enter data in any order    you wish and then perform sorts    to reorder the files in several    05                                                                                                                     Aad                                ways.  You can make reports in     alpha order and make your stickers in numerical order.  Remember to   06                                                                                                                     Aae                                left align anything you are going  to sort on.  You can allow spaces  between the left margin and the    07                                                                                                                     Aaf                                item to be sorted but they must be consistently the same number of    spaces for each line.              08                                                                                                                     Aag                                Also number your records in a      consistent coumnar format, i.e.    001, 002, 0001, 0002 and so on,    09                                                                                                                     Aah                                depending on how many records you  intend on utiziling.  If you will  have up to 1001 records then use   10                                                                                                                     Aai                                0001, 0002 and so on.  Since this  program only supports 1001         records per file then 4 digits will11                                                                                                                     Aaj                                be all you will be able to handle  numerically.  Again, experiment    and save your work.                12                                                                                                                     Aai                                Finally, since you can additionallysort on the memo field (Alt-W) you can use lines 6-9 as sort fields   13                                     Aak                                which will not show on printed     labels.  If you address something  to Marvis Jones and you want a     14                                     AAl                                sort by last name put Jones, Marv  on line 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 and sort  by that field when asked.          15           Last Record
