  2.      RPI=  Rockwell Protocol Interface.  There is a V42bis.DRV file on  the
  3. diskette, and the Software must recognise RPI for it to Interface that with
  4. the modem. Any software that reconises RPI will have a driver included. RPI
  5. based modems do not use RTS/CTS of the program, it too is RPI controlled.

  7.      In  any  program that does use RPI, just set the entry  of  the  phone
  8. directory  to  NONE (not to MNP/V42) to turn off protocol.
  9.  
  10.      If  the program does not support RPI, do NOT set any MNP  or  V42(bis)
  11. options. It will only work as a plain 2400 modem (Hayes 2400).

  13.      There are not very many term programs that suport  RPI for
  14. V42bis. Right now I know of 3. (in order of ease of use).
