DTMF.EXE
This program uses a SoundBlaster card to decode DTMF (Touch Tone) tones.
Usage should be self-explanatory. You need to connect an audio source
which includes DTMF tones to the Soundblaster input. The tones
decoded are displayed on the screen. If there is a pause of more
than a few seconds, a new line is begun.
An optional command line argument is a log file to which decoded numbers
will be appended with a date/time stamp.
> DTMF LOG
will create or append to the file: LOG.
If no file is specified, output will be to the screen only.
Compatibility
The program has been tested on the Creative Labs SoundBlaster card
version 2.0. Please let me know if it does/doesn't work on any
other cards.
Timing is done using the SB card's timer. It should therefore run
on any speed cpu. However, it has only been tested on a 386/20
at this location.
Speaker Noise
The speaker is turned off. However, on my unit a lot of hash comes
out of the speaker when I read the A/D converter. This may be a
hardware problem, or may relate to the BLAST13 library. I will be
looking into it, but if you can offer any suggestions, I'm all ears.
Source
The program was based on the FFTMORSE program by François Jalbert
(jalbert@IRO.UMontreal.CA) and uses the Sound-Blaster C Library
BLAST13 by Joel Lucsy. After I get the permission of both of these
authors, I will make the full source available.
