  18.      minimum hardware requirements.  The program should run on any 
  19.      IBM or compatible computer with 256k or more (that's right,

  100.    The ALITE diskette should contain the following files:

  110.    To install the program follow the instructions below:
  111.  
  112.    1. Start your computer and make sure you are at the DOS prompt.
  113.  
  114.    2. Insert the ALITE diskette in Drive A or B.  
  115.  
  116.    3. Type A: (or B:, depending on step 2, above) and press ENTER
  117.  
  118.    4. Type INSTALL, press ENTER and follow the on-screen instructions.

  122.    STARTING THE PROGRAM
  123.    --------------------
  124.    The information provided below is to help you start the program for 
  125.    your hardware configuration.  For more details about the operation 
  126.    of the program press the F1 (function) key once you have started 
  127.    the program. (Make sure you have installed the program using 
  128.    INSTALL, as explained above).

  138.    ALITE is started from DOS using the command:

  140.    ALITE /Option1/Option2/Option3/.....     [ENTER]

  142.         Available Command Line Options
  143.         ------------------------------
  144.     /ATT   - Enables ATT display graphics
  145.     /H     - Enables graphics for Hercules
  146.     /E     - Enables graphics for EGA
  147.     /NT    - No Keyboard Turbo (Eliminates conflicts with some programs 
  148.              that directly manipulate the keyboard registers)
  149.     /Q     - Quick screen updating for CGA
  150.     /R     - Load the program as TSR using in preference EMS/Disk 
  151.     /RX    - Load the program TSR using XMS for swapping
  152.     /RD    - Load the Program TSR using a disk for swapping 
  153.     /SW=X  - Use drive X for the temporary swapping file (Default is drive C)
  154.     /U     - Unload program from memory
  155.     /V1    - Force CGA mode on VGA monitor

  157.    For additional command line options, please take a look at the file 
  158.    ALITE.MAN, or the printed user's manual (if you have a registered copy)

  160.    ALITE may be set-up to run from any directory (usually on a hard disk 
  161.    system).  The way to do that is to:
  162.  
  163.         a.  Include the ALITE directory in your DOS path, and
  164.         b.  Set the environment variable ALITE as follows:
  165.             At the DOS prompt type 
  166.  
  167.                    SET ALITE=Drive:\Directory
  168.  
  169.             For example, if ALITE is installed on your drive D and 
  170.             in a directory called ALITE then the SET command would be:
  171.  
  172.                    SET ALITE=D:\ALITE
  173.  
  174.    For details on using the program, please make sure you print out 
  175.    the on-disk user's manual, ALITE.MAN (approx. 65 pages).  This file 
  176.    is extracted for you during the installation process and is formatted 
  177.    and ready to print on any printer using 60 or more lines per page.

  179.    To print the manual file to your printer, simply use the command:

  186.  Modifications in ALITE /R  Ver 1.20r

  188.  The new version of ALITE /R (codenamed /R for /resident) may 
  189.  now be executed in a Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR), or 
  190.  background mode.  
  191.  
  192.  Using one of the /R command line switches (see Starting 
  193.  the program above), the program will load using only about 7K of 
  194.  conventional memory.  Then, whenever you need it, the program 
  195.  will pop over whatever application you are running, and allow you 
  196.  to perform spreadsheet calculations without interrupting your 
  197.  main application.

  199.  Summary of new commands:
  200.   ALITE /R      -   Load the program TSR using EMS [or DISK]
  201.  
  202.   ALITE /RX     -   Load the program TSR using XMS swapping
  203.  
  204.   ALITE /RD     -   Load the program TSR using DISK swapping
  205.                     The command line switch /SW=X may also be 
  206.                     used to specify which drive to be used for 
  207.                     swapping, e.g.  ALITE /RD /SW=E  will use 
  208.                     drive E for swapping.
  209.                     
  210.                     If no drive is specified, then drive C is 
  211.                     used.  Note that the swap files are temporary 
  212.                     files created in the root directory of the 
  213.                     specified disk, and they are automatically 
  214.                     deleted by the progra, when it is unloaded.  
  215.                     DO NOT attempt to delete these files manually.

  217.   ALITE /U      -   Unload program (if loaded with /R, /RX, or /RD)
