  7.    POKER SOLITAIRE is a simple but stimulating combination of two immensely
  8. popular games:  poker and solitaire.  Play is very simple.  A standard deck of
  9. cards is shuffled, and the first twenty-five cards are dealt one at a time. As
  10. each card is dealt, you decide where to play the card in a 5x5 grid.  Each card
  11. must be played on a blank spot in the grid, and the game ends when the 25th card
  12. has been played.  Use the cursor keys to position your card in the grid.

  14.    The object is to make the highest-scoring hands in each row and column, a
  15. total of ten hands.  The score is tabulated when you complete a row or column.
  16. At the end of each game the score will be tabulated row by column for review.
  17. At the play again prompt, ^1R^0 means reset the high and low scores and play again.
  18. You can press escape at any time to exit.

  20.    Please note that scoring is not the same as in regular poker, but in
  21. accordance with the relative difficulty of making a given hand in the solitaire
  22. version.  The theoretically highest possible score is 230 points, but any score
  23. over 100 is very good.  If you get tired of trying for a high score, try to make
  24. the lowest score that you can.  Actually it's not difficult to achieve a single
  25. digit score, but making a zero can be a little frustrating, especially when the
  26. last card rolls up.

  28.    To run this program outside the BIG BLUE DISK menu, type ^1POKERSOL^0.  Poker
  29. Solitaire automatically detects your video adapter type.  Type ^1POKERSOL X^0 to
  30. override these defaults, where ^1X^0 is ^1M^0 for monochrome, ^1C^0 for color graphics, ^1T
  31. for color text, or ^1F^0 for fast CGA color text.
