- You are now ready to dye the fabrics using any of the techniques described on
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- this CD. The effects that you can achieve are limitless and may not be
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- repeatable. Use your imagination to go wild. Play and have fun. Remember that
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- there are never 'mistakes' when you dye fabric, simply a new colour or
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- technique that you have discovered. Try to keep notes so that you can do a
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- particular technique again. When folding fabrics to dye, try to avoid tight folds
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- as this will stop the dye penetrating the fabric and you will end up with large
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- white areas. You can use the fabric either wet or dry, but the wet fabric won't
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- take up as much dye as the dry fabric resulting in more white areas. The water
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- itself acts as a resist. You can even try dye Method Number three, and directly
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- apply the dye to the folded fabric, or dip the edges into different colours. Then
- --- RECORDSEPARATOR ---
- wrap in plastic and leave to batch.
