Several changes have been made to Stellar Empires between 1.0 and version 2.21.
If you are running any version PRIOR to 2.0 then you must replace all the
files in the door's directory and run CREATION. Because some data files have
been altered, any current game must be restarted. If you are running 2.0, or
later, there is NO need to reset the current game, just replace all the .EXE
files with the ones contained herein. If you are upgrading from 2.1 or 2.11,
you need to replace STELLAR.EXE and SEHELP with the new ones, copy the new
MAPARC.BAT and DOWNLOAD.BAT and edit them to fit your setup - that's it!
In this archive there should have been the following files:
CHAINVRT ZIP Chain.txt to Door.sys converter
CREATION EXE Starts a new game
DOWNLOAD BAT Let's player download information files
FILE_ID DIZ You know what these are
HISTORY DOC The history of the galaxy
MAPARC BAT Batch file to archive maps for downloading
MENU DOC The games main menu for downloading
MRBBS TXT Info on the games home system
README 221 This file
SEEDIT EXE Sysop's editor, used to be named SEEDITOR.EXE
SEHELP Online help file
SEMAINT EXE Nightly, or whenever, maintenance utility
SERULES DOC Game rules for players
STELLAR CFG Sample config file
STELLAR EXE The main program
