  10. You want to automate the process of defining and selecting label
  11. definitions.

  14. Concept
  15. WordPerfect has created a macro that sets up predefined labels. 
  16. This macro is called LABELS.WPM, and it is installed with the
  17. WordPerfect 5.1 macro and keyboard files.
  18.  
  19. The labels macro will give you predefined label sizes, but you
  20. can edit them if they are close to but not exactly what you need. 
  21. For example, you can choose the Avery 3x10 label and alter it
  22. slightly to fit your needs.

  25. Solution
  26. Use the labels macro to automate your label selection process.

  28. Laser Printer
  29. You will need to check the release date of your version of
  30. WordPerfect before you start the macro.  
  31.  
  32. 1    Press Help (F3).  The release date appears in the upper
  33.      right corner.  Make a note of this date.
  34.  
  35. 2    Press Macro (Alt+F10), then type labels and press Enter to
  36.      start the labels macro.

  38. If the labels macro is not found, see Labels in your WordPerfect
  39. 5.1 reference manual.  You may need to install the file from your
  40. WordPerfect disks.

  42. If the macro is found, a screen called "Page (laser) Label
  43. Definitions" appears.

  45. 3    Use your cursor to scroll down through the list of labels.
  46.      When the label you want to use is highlighted, press Enter.
  47.  
  48. The Location prompt appears.  You need to determine how your
  49. labels will be fed into the printer.

  51. 4    Choose Continuous (1), Bin Number (2), or Manual (3),
  52.      depending on how your labels will be fed.

  54.      If you choose Bin Number, you will be prompted for the bin
  55.      number.  If you choose Manual, you will be asked if you want
  56. WordPerfect to prompt you to load the labels at the beginning of
  57. the print job.

  59. If your release of WordPerfect 5.1 is dated before 5/31/93, the
  60. macro will end here. 
  61. If your release is dated after 5/31/93, continue on to step 5.

  63. 5    You will be prompted to insert the label definition into the
  64.      Document Initial codes.  Choose Yes if you are planning to
  65.      merge your labels, or if you are ready to begin typing your
  66.      labels.  Choose No if you are not ready to print your
  67.      labels, but you want the labels to be set up in your Paper
  68.      Size/Type selections in the Format, Page menu.

  70. Dot Matrix Labels
  71. Any release of WordPerfect dated before 5/31/93 does not have the
  72. dot matrix options for labels.  To check your release date, press
  73. Help (F3).  The date appears in the upper right corner.  If you
  74. want to print labels on a dot matrix printer, we suggest that you
  75. upgrade to a more recent version of WordPerfect.
