  5. US Deficit in 1993 was $266 billion, $40 billion higher 
  6. than when there was the 1990 emergency. 
  7. Now where is the press coverage and handwringing?
  8.

  10. WARNING: Watching the National Debt increase every
  11. second can increase blood pressure and stress.

  14.     ╥It has been two years since the release of version 2 of the US National 
  15. Debt DA.  Quite a lot has happened in the interim, including the October 1990 
  16. budget deal.  This deal would supposedly reduce the deficit in 1991 to $63 
  17. billion and in 1992 to $25 billion and, eventually, balance the budget.  Now, 
  18. based on recent O.M.B. statistics, instead of decreasing, the deficit has 
  19. increased to about $270 billion for 1991 and $390-$430 billion for 1992 and 
  20. $1,000 billion over a 4 year period.  This will increase the US National 
  21. Debt to well over $4 trillion by 1994.  Washington has done it again, 
  22. selling the country a bill of goods.╙

  24. The previous paragraph was written in 1991.  As you can see, it is 
  25. 60% of the way between $4 trillion and $5 trillion in early 1994.

  27.     This update reflects the present situation for deficit 
  28. forecast.  As developments warrant, I will update this program 
  29. further.
