  5.        This is not freeware and if you like it and use it you should

  17. be sent on a 3.5" disk unless you specify 5.25".

  19. This version has a minor bug fix and adds a working directory box to use
  20. when adding applications to the middle buttons of The File Machine. It is
  21. only necessary to add the working directory for a few programs that may not 
  22. open or load properly after installed to a button.
  23.  
  24. The biggest change in this version is the addition of a status help bar
  25. at the bottom of The File Machine. There is now also a Help file with 
  26. quite a bit of information (resduet2.hlp). This should be placed in the 
  27. same directory as resduet.exe. When ResDuet+ is open, click on the right 
  28. panel (resources) with your right mouse button to find the Help file and
  29. other configuration files. To find out more, read below and click on the
  30. resources panel with your right mouse button.

  32. It is also easier to move the ResDuet+ panel now by clicking on the
  33. resources panel (right side) with the left mouse button and dragging the
  34. entire panel to where you want it. The search function is also much faster.

  36. I have added sounds to many commands. The sound files must be 
  37. downloaded separately and are only useful if you have a sound card.
  38. The sound file name is RESDU2B.ZIP (or RESDUB in Compuserve). If you
  39. have downloaded the RESDUET2.ZIP file before (version 2.01) you should 
  40. already have these files. These wav files should be placed in the same
  41. directory as resduet.exe. RESDU2A.ZIP has all of the main ResDuet+ files.

  50. To run RESDUET+ you will need the VBRUN300.DLL Visual Basic runtime 
  51. file (found on most BBS's) in your Windows or Windows/System directory
  52. (as long as this is in your path statement). Then add a new program
  53. item to one of your groups (File*New*OK, etc.) using the icon with
  54. RESDUET+. I don't know if this will run in Windows 3.0 but it should.

  56. The files included with RESDUET+ are:
  57.  
  58.  1. resduet.exe - to be placed in any directory (you may want this in
  59.  your start-up group also).

  65.     cmdialog.vbx
  66.     commdlg.dll
  67.     apiguide.dll

  74.  These files need to be placed in your Windows directory (or Windows\System 
  75.  if in your path) if you don't already have them. (Please make sure this is
  76.  the most recent version).

  78.  4. resduet2.ini - will be created in your Windows directory  (assuming Windows 
  79.  is on your "C" drive). Once you have added your programs to the middle buttons,
  80.  the icons/pictures will be saved to pict#.bmp files in the directory where resduet.exe
  81.  is placed (# being a number from 1 to 20) to coincide with the button selected. If you
  82.  move these picture files, you must make the necessary path changes in the resduet2.ini
  83.  file for the pictures only.

  85.  RESDUE2B.ZIP (RESDUB.ZIP)- this contains all the sound files and must be downloaded 
  86.  separately (if you do NOT have ResDuet+ version 2.01). You must have a sound card for 
  87.  this feature to work. If you choose to use sound, you will need to unzip the wav files
  88.  into the same directory as resduet.exe. You can enable sound with a male or female 
  89.  voice (or disable sound) with the Configure\Sounds menu item.

  92. RESTART/RESOURCE PANEL:
  93. I won't get into very many instructions here because they are included
  94. in the program but the important ones are;
  95.  
  96. *  To re-position the restart/resource panel, click on the "resources"
  97. (right) panel with the right mouse button and select Configure/ResDuet Position OR
  98. click and drag the right panel (with your left mouse button) to move ResDuet+.                           
  99.  
  100. *  To read the restart/resource panel instructions, click on the  
  101. "resources" panel with the right mouse button and select Instructions or click on
  102. the Help menu item.
  103.  
  104. *  To open The File Machine, click on the "time" panel (left) with the left 
  105. mouse button. To open only the middle buttons from The File Machine, click
  106. on the time panel with your right mouse button.
  107.  
  108. *  To check your available memory space and available disk space, click
  109. on the "resource" panel with your left mouse button then click on the About menu item.

  112. THE FILE MACHINE:
  113. Most of this is self-explanatory and also includes instructions. The 
  114. "buttons" in the center of The File Machine open whatever files/programs
  115. you add using the "Buttons" button on the bottom left. PLEASE NOTE, WHEN 
  116. ADDING YOUR PROGRAMS/APPLICATIONS TO THE BUTTONS, YOUR VIDEO COLORS SHOULD
  117. BE NO HIGHER THAN 256. ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS, YOU MAY CHANGE TO A
  118. HIGHER COLOR (32K, 64K ETC.).

  121. The status bar at the bottom of The File Machine will show what the various
  122. buttons are that the mouse cursor is above. When it is above one of the 
  123. middle buttons, it will show the path of the file that is added to that
  124. button. This will happen AFTER you have entered the information for the 
  125. button and have exited and re-entered The File Machine the first time after
  126. adding this information.

  128. For instructions on the various buttons or areas, click your right mouse
  129. button over those areas or the left mouse button on the "?" button.
