  6. WHATS NEW IN VERSION 3.0?

  8. 1>  User defined printer alias names. If defined, alias names
  9.     are displayed on printer selection buttons, minimized icon
  10.     and horizontal configuration title bar.

  45. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
  46.  
  47. PrintSwitch 3.0 - A simple utility that makes changing your default 
  48. Windows printer or its settings as easy as one click or HotKey press! 
  49. Automatically configures itself for your system and displays all currently 
  50. installed printers. Shows current default selection and paper orientation in 
  51. normal or icon state and automatically senses any changes. Also allows access 
  52. to printer setup, toggling Print Manager on & off, Print Manager priority settings
  53. and toggling paper orientation. User configurable for printer alias names, 
  54. horizontal or vertical format, screen position, button font size, vertical and
  55. horizontal button size, button color, HotKey key assignment. It also has 
  56. options of remaining on top of all running programs and starting as an icon. 
  57. If you have more than one installed printer and change them regularly, this 
  58. utlity is for you! Great for networks, printers with multiple connections and 
  59. fax modems! Shareware. Requires VBRUN300.DLL not included.

  86. INSTALLATION & UPGRADING
  87.  
  88. Run INSTALL.EXE. All distribution files will be copied to the directory of your choice 
  89. (.VBX and .DLL files will be placed in your Windows/System directory). For optimal 
  90. ease of use, it is recommended that you have PrintSwitch automatically load when 
  91. Windows is started.

  93. ******************************* OBSOLETE .DLL WARNINGS ************************************

  95. If you are using another application at time of installation that uses hotkey.dll (our utility
  96. called ExitWin for example) and your existing copy of hotkey.dll is an older version, you will
  97. see an error message "Wrong Version Of Runtime DLL" unless you exit and restart Windows before 
  98. running the new version of PrintSwitch.
  99.  
  100. If you are upgrading from an older version of PrintSwitch OR have another program installed 
  101. that uses an old version of MESSRECD.DLL, you will get an error message "sub or function not 
  102. defined" when starting or closing PrintSwitch. You must delete ALL copies of the outdated 
  103. version of MESSRECD.DLL from your system and reinstall the newest version from the original 
  104. .zip archive. It should be dated 10/5/93 or newer and be 1,792 bytes in size. It should be 
  105. reinstalled in your Windows/System directory. Other programs that used the old version will 
  106. not be affected by the update.
