  13. The Desktop Helper is a Windows 3.1 Desktop utility that provides
  14. program launching and task maintenance capabilities in a convenient
  15. pop-up menu available from the Desktop or any window.  The features
  16. include:

  18.         - Convenient pop-up menu at the click of a button.
  19.  
  20.         - Pop-up menu available from the Desktop or any window.
  21.  
  22.         - Easily configurable launch list of frequently executed
  23.           programs.
  24.  
  25.         - Switch to or terminate a task.
  26.  
  27.         - Display of free system resources.
  28.  
  29.         - Arrange desktop ICONs.
  30.  
  31.         - Exit or restart Windows without being queried about saving
  32.           Desktop changes.
  33.  
  34.         - Pop-up file browser to choose a file to run.
  35.  
  36.         - No useless ICON to clutter up the Desktop.

  38.         - Can be used as the system shell to totally replace Program
  39.           Manager.

  41.         - Small memory usage- occupies less than 20K of memory when
  42.           not in use.

  45. Hardware  Requirements:  PC -286 or greater, 2MB RAM, hard drive.

  54.         README.TXT  -This file (ASCII text file)
  55.         HISTORY.TXT -Revision history (ASCII text file)
  56.         ORDER.TXT   -Order form (ASCII text file)
  57.         DH.WRI      -Installation & use documentation (view with WRITE)
  58.         DH.INI      -Sample initialization file
  59.         DH.EXE      -The Desktop Helper executable program
  60.         DHHOOK.DLL  -Dynamic Link Library used by DH.EXE

  63. The Desktop Helper is distributed as shareware.  The Desktop Helper
  64. may be freely copied and distributed for evaluation as long as the
  65. following rules are followed:

  67.         1.  The program (DH.EXE and DHHOOK.DLL), and the documentation
  68.             (README.TXT, HISTORY.TXT, ORDER.TXT, and DH.WRI) are not
  69.             modified in any way, shape, or form.
  70.  
  71.         2.  A copy of all files are provided with each copy of The Desktop
  72.             Helper.  These files are: README.TXT, HISTORY.TXT, ORDER.TXT,
  73.             DH.WRI, DH.INI, DH.EXE, and DHHOOK.DLL.

  75.         3.  No charge, other than a media and handling charge (not to
  76.             exceed $5.00), is made.
  77.  
  78.         4.  A user may use the program for thirty days before paying the
  79.             registration fee.  If the program is used after the thirty-
  80.             day evaluation period, an obligation to register and pay
  81.             the registration fee is incurred.

  83.             If at the end of this trial period you do not feel that
  84.             this program is worth the registration fee then you are
  85.             obligated to discontinue the usage of The Desktop Helper.

  87. The registration fee for The Desktop Helper is $15 (U.S. Dollars).
  88. Payment of this fee entitles you to technical support via mail (EMAIL
  89. or U.S. postal) and encourages the author to add new features.  You
  90. will receive a registration number valid for any version 1.x of The
  91. Desktop Helper.  Proper registration will disable the occasional beg
  92. for money.  See the DH.WRI or ORDER.TXT files for further details and
  93. a mail-in registration form.  Update disk available at extra cost.
