This text includes the PGP public key of Chris Uhl, author of
Copperware! programs for Windows.
PGP uses public-key encryption to protect E-mail and data files in
order to allow secure communications between individuals with no
secure channels needed for prior exchange of keys. PGP is freeware
and is Copyright by Philip Zimmermann.
In a nutshell, it works like this:
∙ When properly configured, you may execute:
PGP -KG
This will generate your key set, which will consist of one public
key and one secret key.
∙ Any file encrypted with your public key (as provided by you) may only
be decrypted by you, using your secret key.
∙ My public key is available as UHL.PGP on the Community BBS at
(306) 652-2487.
∙ After obtaining my public key, you may add it to your keyring using
the command:
PGP -KA UHL.PGP
∙ Should you desire to send me a private file, you need only encrypt it
with my public key using the command:
PGP -E <filename> "Chris Uhl"
PGP will create a file with the same name as the original file, but
with the extension '.PGP'. You may now safely send me that file, as
I am the only one who is able to decrypt it.
∙ If you wish to verify that a PGP-signed file originated from me,
you may verify my signature by using the command:
PGP <filename>
