@0C@PRO.W.L@0F@, an all@0A@ @0E@WILDCAT!@0A@ Network
@0F@The purpose behind @0C@PRO.W.L@0F@ is to allow multiple BBS' the means to share
a common message base. By this we mean, you will literally be able to
send and recieve messages in designated @0A@*PROWL*@0F@ areas to other BBS' who
carry the @0C@PRO.W.L@0F@ Network! Thus allowing you (the user) the ability to
carry on normal conversations with long distance users as if they were
on your own local BBS.
To use @0C@PRO.W.L@0F@, the first thing you must do is enter the @0E@[@0F@M@0E@]essage Menu
@0F@and then select @0E@[@0F@U@0E@]pdate Conf Scan/Read@0F@. Add the areas that contain the
@0A@*PROWL*@0F@ in the area description. These are the @0C@PRO.W.L@0F@ Network message
areas and are the ONLY areas that will be forwarded to other @0C@PRO.W.L
@0F@systems. In reverse the other systems also have the SAME areas set up
and will be forwarded here. Within several days of leaving your message,
it will have been sent to ALL the @0C@PRO.W.L@0F@ Network members. If a reply is
made to you, it will be picked up from their system and delivered here.
If you use TOMCAT to Download your BBS mail, there are a few simple
rules to follow in order to keep the messages on each @0C@PRO.W.L@0F@ BBS
from being duplicated and orderly. They are as follows:
1. When you Download a packet from any of the @0C@PRO.W.L@0F@ BBS'
you must ONLY upload your replies to the system from which
your current mail packet was downloaded. This will insure
that no duplicate messages or created.
2. PRIVATE messages will be allowed in the @0A@*PROWL*@0F@ conferences!
If you wish to send a PRIVATE message to a user on another
@0C@PRO.W.L@0F@ BBS, simply toggle the private flag when entering the
message in the @0A@*PROWL*@0F@ area.
3. Please leave messages in the appropriate @0A@*PROWL*@0F@ areas. This
is only to ensure that the message threads will remain in tact
and make it easy for you to find a subject you wish to discuss.
4. That's it! Enjoy!
The transfers are all made in an automatic fashion and usually within
several days, the mail is transfered throughout the @0C@PRO.W.L@0F@ Network.
This is completely transparent to you, the user. Simply entering
a message is all you need to do! If you are not aware of a users name
on another @0C@PRO.W.L@0F@ system, just leave the message to ALL if it is a
public message. If you wish to leave a private message and are uncertain
of the users name, simply guess and hopefully the sysop of the system for
that user will recognize it and change the name. If you have an idea for
other Message topics to share, please inform the sysop! In addition, if
you find this system useful, or have any suggestions, please feel free
to leave a Comment to the Sysop in one of these areas.
