  13. NEW FEATURES:
  14. 1. ALT+F4 and CTRL+X can now be used as a substitute for ESC from
  15.    the main menu to exit the system.  (By your popular request)
  16. 2. CTRL+B forces the screen blanker ON for you from the main menu
  17. 3. If the environment variables are controlling security, the
  18.    password/name combination will not be required for re-entry
  19.    from the screen blanker
  20. 4. {%Var%} can now be used in !HelpLines and %Titles/>Titles anywhere
  21.    The $Main Title will also accept {Vars} as well.  Make them either
  22.    the {%EnvVar%} or {#EnvVar#} type.
  23. 5. Undocumented in 5.0: {%Var%} *CAN* be used in a menu title.  However,
  24.    take care that using it does not create a NUL title.  That is, embed
  25.    the varaible in another string inside the title.
  26. 6. Help screens can be defined for rolloff submenu items now... you still
  27.    cannot use them on INPUTBOX items, however.
  28. 7. *NEW* for LAN users: If the menu definition has been changed since the
  29.    user last loaded it, the NEW definition will be loaded prior to a menu
  30.    item being executed.  This means that you can now change a menu 
  31.    while users are on the system.  (Done for 24 hour users)
  32.  
  33. BUG FIXES:
  34. 1. Hercules logo display problem corrected.  Instead of the workaround
  35.    using PCNF [Enter] and setting the display of .PCX logo to OFF, the
  36.    system will turn it off automatically.
  37. 2. Rolloff submenus had some serious problems if the use of help lines
  38.    (! Help Line) was inconsistent in a submenu.  This has been
  39.    corrected.
  40. 3. Rolloff submenus using numeric hotkeys crashed the program in
  41.    rare instances.  This has been corrected.
  42. 4. LOADFILE ... /B with single files works properly now.  In 5.00, it
  43.    failed to strip the path from the filename if you used it on a single
  44.    file.... for multiple file dialogs, it always worked.
  45. 5. Focus problems with HELPBOX eliminated (cursor was not in the correct
  46.    position)
  47. 6. Multiple ALT+O hotkeys in configuration systems/options #1 dialog
  48.    cleared up.
  49. 7. MAJOR FIX: Timed events now work with the screen blanker turned on.
  50.    All users that experienced this problem have been sent FREE updates
  51.    in accordance with our bug-fix policy.  Apologies, as always, for the
  52.    little mistakes.  The code looks very very clean at this point.  We
  53.    don't expect another update will be needed.
  54. 8. Timed event errors corrected, along with unusual circumstances that   
  55.    would cause timed events to NEVER execute.
  56. 9. The crossloading of a menu definition file with NO pathing in use
  57.    used to cause a problem in indexing the menu definition if it needed
  58.    to be done.  This was corrected in 5.0d
  59.  
  60. Errors in the Documentation
  61. ---------------------------
  62. 1. It is not mentioned clearly in the documentation that the use of the
  63. commands RESETPC, @MenuFile, and ABORT all cause the batch contents
  64. defined NOT to be executed.  Sorry for the omission...  Also, the example
  65. for RESETPC is clearly incorrect. 
  66.  
  67. 2. If you have a Hercules monochrome system, you will be unable to display
  68. a graphics logo at all.
  69.  
  70. Known Problem:
  71. --------------
  72. 1. Use of CANCEL in conjunction with PULLDFT being set will not work
  73.    as documented.  We will correct this in 5.1... since nobody seems to
  74.    be utilizing this feature to date.
