  1. MAGIC BOOTUP PROGRAM

  4. Magic Bootup was created to run all those utility program that you're suppose 
  5. to run everyday. Things like check disk, memory testers, virus scans, backups, 
  6. defrags, etc. Place Magic Bootup in you AUTOEXEC.BAT file and it will make 
  7. sure that you run those essentials every day.

  9. INSTALLATION

  11. Copy the files created from expanding the MBP.ZIP file, or the files from the 
  12. diskette, into the root directory of your C: drive. Use an ASCII editor, DOS's 
  13. Edit program works fine, to add the command "MB" to your batch file. Anywhere 
  14. after your PATH statement and before your menu or windows command should be 
  15. okay.

  17. SETUP
  18.  
  19. To run Magic Bootup in setup mode type "MB /S" and press enter.  To exit setup 
  20. press the ESC key.

  22. The first two fields are for entering the cut off time. The cut off time 
  23. controls the time at which Magic Bootup resets itself. The hour is entered in 
  24. 24 hr. format, i.e. 5 AM is 05, and 2 PM is 14. Minutes are entered from 00 to 
  25. 59.

  27. Magic Bootup accepts up to 10 items to be automatically run each day. Each 
  28. item has four fields associated with it. The fields are Name, Priority, 
  29. Status, and Command.

  31. Name - Enter a descriptive name for the item, up to 58 characters.

  33. Priority - Enter either a "L" for Low, or a "M" for Medium, or a "H" for High. 
  34. Low priority items can be canceled during the 10 second delay. Medium priority 
  35. items may be skipped during the 10 second delay. High priority items can not 
  36. be skipped or canceled.

  38. Status - Enter either an "N" for Not Run, or a "R" for Run, or a "D" for Done. 
  39. Normally you would enter an "N". The program will enter the R's and D's as 
  40. necessary. The R status indicated that Magic Bootup attempted to run the item 
  41. but that, for some reason, it didn't return to Magic Bootup after it 
  42. completed.

  44. Command - Enter either a program name or a batch file name. If you enter a 
  45. batch file name be sure to proceed it with the CALL command. The Command line 
  46. may be up to 76 characters.

  48. If any one of an item's fields are left blank the entire item will be deleted.

  52. To see a list of the items type "MB /L" and press ENTER. Press any key to 
  53. exit.

  55. FORCE

  57. To force Magic Bootup to run all items type "MB /F" and press enter.

  59. RUN a Specific Item

  61. To run just one specific item type "MB /#", where # is an item's number from 1 
  62. to 10, and press ENTER.
