VICTORY AT SEA
Available for the Macintosh and IBM PC and Compatibles
Three Sixty Pacific, Inc. has announced the release of Victory
At Sea, it's long awaited World War II naval game, designed by
world renowned military expert James F. Dunningan. Victory At
Sea will span the entire Pacific Theatre from the Panama Canal
to India, and from the Aleutian Islands to the shores of
Australia. In addition, Three Sixty will use Victory At Sea to
launch their revolutionary GameBook concept.
During the game, players will be able to plot multi-leg
courses by using the game's point and click auto-navigation. A
zoom feature will allow players to see all the action at the
operational level. Other game features include QuickTime
videos of actual Pacific War footage visible during gameplay;
the option to promote, demote or reassign taks force
commanders; and the inclusion of intelligence and
communications reports.
The GameBook is a true on-line book comprised of World War II
pictures and over 100,000 words of historical background text
and analysis. Accessed through pulldown menus and key word
HyperText linkage, the GameBook will enhance the player's game
experience by providing an interactive educational tool and a
sense of historical perspective and realism.
James F. Dunnigan is a well known figure in military affairs
and wargaming. Founder and former chief game designer for
Strategic Publications, Inc., Dunnigan has created over 100
games and has published numerous books addressing military
issues.
Victory At Sea is a World War II naval simulation form Three
Sixty Pacific, Inc. - the creators of Harpoon - based in
Campbell, California. The game will be available on Apple
Macintosh in September priced £44.99. and IBM PC and
compatibles in October priced £44.99. Three Sixty products are
exclusively distributed in Europe by Electronic Arts Ltd.
