| INTRODUCTION |
----------------
It has been brought to our attention, that one of the
biggest pains to a RGBBS SysOp is that they cannot view log
files or for that matter any text file with Control (^) and
Pipe (|) codes in DOS (with color). Solution: This program.
RGVIEWER.EXE is a basic text-file viewer that converts
control and pipe codes to color. The program reads your
SCHEME.DAT file (located in your ..\DATA directory) and uses
your "color scheme" with the control codes. Regular colors
are used with the pipe codes.
----------------
| INSTRUCTIONS |
----------------
Copy RGVIEWER.EXE to your Renegade root directory (for
example C:\RENEGADE or C:\RG or C:\BBS). The viewer MUST be
run from this directory. To run the viewer, type:
RGVIEWER
(When you first run the program, you are given the
configuration screen. Just type in the indicated paths)
When the "shell" appears, you are given 5 choices:
1. View any text-file. With this option, you can
specify any file, whether it contains Renegade Color codes or
not, and view it with the viewer.
2. View the current (today's) SysOp log. 'Nuf said.
3. View log XXX days back. You can specify up to 999
days back (assuming the logs exist) to view.
4. Change configuration. 'Nuf said.
5. Quit
When the viewer loads up, you will see the file on the
screen, in color. You can use the UP/DOWN / PAGEUP/PAGEDOWN
/ HOME/END keys to maneuver through the file. You can also
jump to any line, by pressing F2. It will then prompt you
for a line number to go to. Pressing F3 will extract the
"coded" file to a plain text file, without the distracting
color codes. You can press F1 at anytime in the viewer for
help. When finished, press ESCAPE to exit the program.

| SHAREWARE |
-------------
Renegade File Viewer is SHAREWARE. This means that you
are given a trial period to test out the program, to see if
you like it. If you do, then fill out the application
(filename REGISTER.APP) and mail it, along with a check for
$10 to the address stated in the application. You will then
recieve a registration code and instructions to register your
program. You will also recieve two free updates.
If you are using the unregistered version of the viewer,
you will be faced with a delay when you run and exit the
program. Each time you run the program, the counter on the
delay increases by 1. You can also only view about 1/2 of
the file that you tell it to view. You can also, only view
up to 3 days back, with option number 3. When you register,
these "crippled" features are "uncrippled" meaning that there
will be no timer, and you can view the entire file.
