February 1994
This fact sheet lists legislative
and corporate attacks on traditional
family values. The purpose is to
inform you as a voter and a consumer
so that you can pray; then act as
you feel God is leading you. Full
text of sources is available on
request.
YOUR 1994 ELECTION BUDGET
During the next few months, you will
have many opportunities to invest
small amounts of time to signifi-
cantly impact our nation. How much
time should you budget between now
and next November?
* Register to vote - 15 minutes
* Vote in March 8 Primary - 1 hour
* Attend Precinct Convention at your
polling place immediately after
polls close March 8 - 1 to 2 hours
* Attend Senate District Convention
March 26 - 4 hours
* Vote in city and school board
elections this Spring - 1 hour
* Vote in General Election Nov 8 - 1
hour
* Work for a candidate in each of
Primary, General and city/school
board elections - 1 hour per week
* Write 4 letters during 1994 on
issues that concern you - 2 hours
For about a 30 hour investment (six
minutes a day), you can be among the
1% actively determining the direct-
ion this country takes in 1994. Who
makes those decisions? It's the
people: those who simply show up at
decision making time. You! If you'll
just invest a little time.

Gay and Lesbian Educators -- a group
which distributes homosexual litera-

CHRYSLER CORPORATION
Top sponsor of violent programs on
prime time TV as determined for
period 17 Oct to 13 Nov 93. Violence
was defined as bodily harm done or
attempted to be done to a person.
Cartoon or comedy violence was not
included. Other leading sponsors of

ABC will not broadcast March 1
episode that includes a kiss between
Roseanne Arnold and Mariel Hemingway
at a gay bar. Network fears losing
$1 million in advertising if show

WALT DISNEY COMPANY (1)
Disney subsidiary, Hollywood Pic-
tures, is filming "Color of Night"
which includes erotic love scenes
with full frontal nudity of both
male and female stars. Scenes may be
cut if film fails to get R rating.

CENTRAL PARK MALL
Refused to sell space on electronic
sign for pro-life message . Mall
representative claimed message was
political but admitted they would
accept other political messages.

WALT DISNEY COMPANY (2)
Disney subsidiaries, Touchstone,
Hollywood Pictures and Miramax,
continue to advertise an ABC's "NYPD
BLUE." Southern Baptist Convention
sent letter to Disney citing "strong
objection to [Disney] sponsorship of
"NYPD BLUE" saying show is "design-
ed to denigrate Judeo-Christian
morality and family values." Editor
of Texas Baptist newspaper challeng-
ed Baptists to boycott Disney World
during SBC convention in Orlando
this summer. (AFA, Feb 94)
CONSUMER CHOICE HEALTH SECURITY ACT
S.1743, sponsored by Sen Don Nickles
(R-OK), is a pro-family alternative
to Clinton's health care reform.
Family Research Council endorses the
"small-government, tax credit-based
approach to expanding insurance
coverage [that] encourages prudence
in health choices [and] recognizes
the family's contribution to good
health." (WW, 18 Jan 94)
ACTION: Call your Congressman and
Senators to voice your support for
S.1743. Congressional switchboard in

CORRECTION
The Jan 94 CAFS reported that
State School Board District 5
member Estaban Sosa did not vote
on health textbooks containing
explicit and inaccurate sex in-
formation. We were wrong. He
voted to adopt the controversial
textbooks. To contact Mr Sosa
