Disclaimer:
The author of this program (Lanny Stewart herein) does NOT take any
responsibility for damages to your system directory or indirectly.
Nor does he take responsibility for damages consequent to the use
or misuse or inability to use this program.
The ONLY garantee that the author stated above makes is that this
program will take up disk space. NOTHING is garanteed. The use
of this program on your part indicates that you are using it at
your own risk and understand that the author WILL NOT be held
responsible for ANYTHING that HAPPENS on your system or to your
system. 'nuff said.
Program Usage:
This program is designed to change 1 of 4 fields inside the FDB###.HDR
file. These four fields are "Uploaders name, Times Downloaded, Cost,
and Password to Download." BE CAREFULL with this program because it
changes all the info in the areas defined fast and can't be stopped
once it starts. There is NO backup made while this program is running,
however the program will not CHANGE the file if it can't be changed
(ie. a read error, or share violation). It will simply not continue.
****** YOU MUST HAVE THE RA ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE SET FOR IT TO WORK!
This program assumes that your File Data Base HDR files are in a
directory called HDR of the RA directory (eg. C:\RA\HDR\). If they
are not, then do not use this program, contact the author, and ask
him how to make it get the HDR files from a different directory.
There should be no reason to store them in a different DIRECTORY.
The author plans to update this program if it needs to be. PLEASE
report anything to him that he should know.
Just RUN the program (RAFDB.EXE) and fill in the questions. You may
TOTALLY abort the program at any time by pressing CONTROL-C.
It will ask you the area to start at, the area to end at, the field
you wish to change, and the NEW data to put in that field.
Have fun. Write me netmail or call the BBS and leave me mail if you have
any problems, or wish to have ADDITIONS or CHANGES made. I am more than
happy to change or add to the program.
See ya 'round.
