README.DOC
Here are the names and descriptions of the files required to
understand, install, and use James W. Young & Associates' custom
COBOL system analysis and documentation tool, PEO.
PEO is for the professional programmer who works with COBOL; it's
especially effective for understanding older, unfamiliar COBOL
systems. It has automated the procedures programmers have used for
decades and enhanced the procedures because PEO enables you to
combine subprograms and main programs into a single
package for analysis
combine main programs for analysis
capture critical information about the business
functions and control logic directly from the
source and annotate the information immediately.
PEO tracks the relations among the components of a COBOL program.
This enables effective analysis of both data transformation and
logic paths.
The files are divided into categories according to whether you
are just looking or are going to give PEO a try.
You should see the ASP.doc file. This file explains the policies
and practices of the Association of Shareware Professionals. Jim
Young is a proud member of the Association.
