  1. GNU GAWK 2.15 recompiled with Microsoft C ver 8.0 for NT. See GAWK215.ZIP for 
  2. a copy of the manual.

  4. This was compiled from the source in GAWK2154.ZIP. Very few modifications
  5. were required. Modified source is included. The following files from the
  6. GNU distribution were added or modified:

  8.     gawk.mak    modified makefile.msc
  9.     io.c        #defines for _WIN32
  10.     regex.c        #defines for _WIN32
  11.     *.c;*.h        added CRLF combinations to all sources for MS-DOS family
  12.             editors.

  15. Since I don't yet have a copy of pkzip for NT which supports long file names,
  16. PATCHL~1.H will need to be renamed to patchlevel.h prior to compilation.

  18. I don't know how well it works, it's working for me so far. Long file names
  19. do seem to be supported.
