Features
========
LaserMate is "User Friendly"!
LaserMate features On-Line Help.
LaserMate will produce labels using Avery #5196 & 5197 (and
compatible) Laser Labels from your floppy diskettes. If you are
a DiskMate user, you will also have the choice of producing
labels from diskettes logged into the DiskMate databases.
Labels can be printed to any position on the Laser Label Sheet.
This will enable you to print less than a full sheet of labels
and later use the same sheet to print additional labels until all
of the labels on the sheet have been used.
LaserMate is MOUSE aware. If your mouse driver is loaded before
you run LaserMate, it will be detected and you will be able to
use your mouse for selecting label positions, menu choices, etc..
Left and Top Margins can be changed to compensate for variations
in brands of labels and printer postions.
The printing position between labels can also be changed to fine-
tune your output.
All settings can be saved so they will be in effect the next time
you run LaserMate.
LaserMate gives you the option of giving your floppy disk a Name
and/or Description which will be printed on the label.
The [F4] Function Key will let you view the contents of your
floppy disk. This may assist you in giving your floppy a Name
and/or Description.
LaserMate will print as many file names that will fit on a
label. If more filenames are present, a line at the bottom of
the label will let you know that more file names exist.

(i.e. COPY A:\LMATE.EXE)
5. LMATE.EXE is a self-extracting, "compressed" file which

[F9] Margins - The Margin Setting feature of LaserMate is
provided to give you more precise control over
printing positions of labels and to compensate for
variations in label brands and printer variations.
Be sure to SAVE any changes by pressing the F8 key
at the Main Menu.
IMPORTANT - All settings are translated into 1/20 of an inch
increments. For example, a setting of 3 will
translate to 3/20 of an inch.
LaserMate Page 11
The defaults for all settings are 0 (zero). These settings can
be changed and saved (with the [F8] key). Settings for 3-1/2
inch labels and 5-1/2 inch labels are independent of each other.
Left Margin - The left margin can be set from a range of 0 to 10
(0 to 10/20 of an inch to the right.
Top Margin - The top margin can be set from -6 to +6 or 6/20
higher on the sheet to 6/20 lower on the sheet.
Spacing Between Labels - Spacing between labels (both
horizontally and vertically) can be set
to NEGATIVE or POSITIVE values. A
setting of 3 between labels horizontally
will increase the space between labels
3/20 of an inch. Conversely, a setting
of -3 will decrease the space between
labels 3/20 of an inch.
IMPORTANT EXAMPLES - Setting a Top Margin to 3 will move the
print position of ALL labels down 3/20 of an
inch.
Setting a Left Margin to 3 will move the
print position of ALL labels 3/20 of an inch
to the right.
Horizontal and Vertical settings between
rows and/or columns labels are INDEPENDENT
of each other. See below.

Here are graphical representations of the 3-1/2" label that may help
show the effects of changing various settings.
