Character Paragraph Document Help 3.2.2A BATTERY PROBLEMS ( 1 of 2 ) On rare occasions the electrical system may have an electrical draw pulling the battery down, from a shorted wire, defective component, or the battery itself. Assuming you have completed chapter 3.2 and the negative cable is still off the battery, set the VOM meter on a 12+ VDC setting, ( A ) put the positive probe on the negative post of the battery and the negative probe on the disconnected negative battery cable. A 0 to 1 volt reading on the meter means there is no problem, reconnect the cable and go to the next section. If the reading is above 1.5 volt, disconnect the positive cable from the battery. If the reading doesn't drop the battery is shorted. Replace it. Check the system again. If it is still high go to the next page. If it drops go to 3.2.3.
