  1. * THIS IS A PRELIMINARY BETA RELEASE! You Are Using This 
  2.   Product At Your OWN RISK!

  4. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS *READING* Carefully!
  5.  
  6. Under ANY Circumstances WhoCalled should NEVER "hang" your board.
  7. It's VERY IMPORTANT TO INFORM ME if it does. The QUALITY *IS*
  8. here and I REFUSE to let WhoCalled "hang" anyone's system. This is
  9. a BETA release and I'm confident you understand that I may have left
  10. the "exit" if error off. 
  11.  
  12. 1) Create The WhoCalled "HOME" Directory
  13.  
  14. 2) Run WHOBCVT.EXE (Answer the prompt)
  15.  
  16. 3) Run SETUP <space> CONFIG.WHO
  17.  
  18.    (ANSWER THE PROMPTS CAREFULLY)
  19.  
  20. 4) EDIT Your $$LOGOFF.BAT For Your Setup.
  21.    Then COPY The File To Your PCBoard's HOME Directory. 
  22.    (Only ONE LogOff.BAT Is Required)
  23.  
  24. 5) Edit WHOUSERS.CFG For Your Setup (Use An ASCII EDITOR)
  25.  
  26. 6) EDIT WHOLOGON.BAT In Your WHOCALLED's HOME DIRECTORY

  28.    * * This file BELONGS in your WHOCALLED's HOME directory! * *
  29.  
  30. 7) EDIT *EACH* Of Your BOARD.BAT Files And Insert This Line:
  31.    SET WHOHOME=c:\whocall (Obviously Applicable To your "WhoCalled HOME")
  32.  
  33. 8) Edit EACH Security News FIle For EACH Security You Have On Your Board.

  35.    * OR IF YOU FORCE YOUR NEWS FILE, Place This On Line 1 There In The 
  36.    "NEWS" File.

  38.    "!c:\whocall\whoinfo.ppe" < -- This CALLS WHOLOGON.BAT
  39.  
  40.    This Is A PAIN IN THE BUTT! SORRY, THIS WILL CHANGE In The 
  41.    NEXT RELEASE! I Can NOT Get The Address Information Any Other Way.

  43. 9) You can NOT run WHOCALL or WHOLOGON manually any longer. You MUST
  44.    let PCBoard run it's course.

  47. I just went through this procedure myself and it's working fine.
  48. If this is NOT working properly, PLEASE don't delete the files
  49. and forget about it. It *IS* working here, has been for a long time
  50. let's get to the bottom of it and fix it for others.
