│▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ TAB v1.5 - (c) Copyright 1994 - Whitewater Technologies, Inc. ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒│
└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
All work done by: Gregg Graubins of Whitewater Technologies, Inc.
───────────────────────────────────
TAB has been compiled using PPLC v2.0 (01-25-94) made by
Clark Development, Inc.
┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│▒▒▒▒▒ THE PURPOSE OF TAB ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒│
└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
This widely used PPE will give save your users' frequently used addresses
for later retrieval. The original idea was brought up by IAB (Internet
Address Book) by Michael Walter (SQLCraft Software). The IAB idea has been
expanded one step further to come out with TAB.
Inside TAB, there are many configuration toggles for both the Sysop and
the user. Unlike in IAB where you cannot configure any of the prompts,
TAB has an external 'TABTEXT' prompt file to allow TOTAL customization.
TAB also has the ability to 'Auto-Record' addresses greater than or equal
the Sysop configured length (In TAB.CFG).
TAB goes one step further than IAB - Adding the ability to 'Quick-Enter'
a memorized name in the address book. By doing this, all the user has to
enter is a '/' followed by the Record # in their address book. For
example, entering a '/1' will immediately bring up record #1.
TAB will always be as optimized as we can make it. It has been tested on
a RAM drive and it is *very* fast!
NOTE: This version will only work with PCBoard 15.1 systems! If you need
to obtain a model to work with 15.0, please call our board and leave a
comment to the Sysop.

│▒▒▒▒▒ INSTALLATION & EXTENDED OPTIONS ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒│
└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
TAB is very easy to install, just follow the simple instructions below:
[1] - Make the MAIN directory to hold the TAB files and copy the
contents of the original zip file into this directory.
Preferred: C:\PCB\PPE\TAB
[2] - Make a DATA\ directory to hold TAB's User Data Files.
Preferred: C:\PCB\PPE\TAB\DATA
[3] - Executed PCBSETUP, go into the conference(s) which you would
like TAB to execute. i.e.:
╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
║ Conference Name (#601) : INetE-Mail ║
║ Public Conference : Y Req. Security if Public : 26 ║
║ Password to Join if Private : Auto-Register Flags : ║
║ ║
Once you get into the conference, press PGDN - And you'll get
the following screen:
╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
║ Conference Name (#601) : INetE-Mail ║
║ ║
║ Auto-Rejoin into this Conf. : Y Additional Conference Security : 0 ║

╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
Fill in a CMD.LST file (If you don't already have one
configured) and Press F2 on it - You will be placed into the
CMD.LST editor.
Enter the following in this file:
Command Security PPE/MNU File -or- Keystroke Replacement
══════════════ ════════ ═══════════════════════════════════════
1) E C:\PCB\PPE\TAB\TAB.PPE <Conference Type>
2) BOOK C:\PCB\PPE\TAB\TAB.PPE MAINT
3) <Command> C:\PCB\PPE\TAB\TAB.PPE <Command Line Option>
NOTE: For any execution of TAB, you *MUST* have a command line
option to go along with it! (See below for command line options)
For the <Conference Type>, you must have a Network type (i.e.
INTERNET)
The above are the commands which we have installed on our
system. You may change the commands around or add new commands
using any of command line options below:
Command Security PPE/MNU File -or- Keystroke Replacement
══════════════ ════════ ═══════════════════════════════════════
3) <Command> C:\PCB\PPE\TAB\TAB.PPE <Command Line Option>
╓───────────────────╖
║ Conference Types: ║
╙───────────────────╜
TAB.PPE INTERNET - Enter an Internet Message. Currently TAB only
has Internet address book capabilities.
Note: Others such as Global (Regular), Fidonet, and others
are becoming available soon.
╓─────────────────────────────╖
║ Other Command Line options: ║
╙─────────────────────────────╜
TAB.PPE INFO - Show information on TAB - i.e. Options toggled
ON/OFF for online user. If the user has Sysop
Security, they will also be displayed with the
options in the .CFG and TABTEXT files. This
is just like executing command 'I' off the
MAIN TAB Menu.
TAB.PPE MAINT - This places the user in the TAB Menu. If the
WELCOME file exists, it will be displayed
before the user enters the menu. If it doesn't
exist, it will not be displayed.
**** Note: Since the release of TAB v1.5, it will now display a file
before the user is prompted for the address/name of the
person to send the message to. These filenames are called
PREENTER or ENTER and must pertain in the TAB directory.
[4] - After adding the commands to the .CMD file list, save it.
[5] - The last step which you have to do is edit the TAB.CFG file.
Inside the Configuration file, there are definitions for
what each line represents - Configure it to your likings.
[6] - Once all the above steps are completed, TAB will be ready to
execution!
