Release Version 2.0c beta
-------------------------
Added logging to callers log upon execution.
Cosmetic fix to certain prompts ending with a ":" and a "?" and removed
the "?" in a few prompts to get a cleaner look. Took out and added a few
blank lines.
(thanks David McCulloch)
If the user pressed ENTER at the "Enter Search Text:" prompt a nul
request would be processed. Fixed.
(thanks David McCulloch)
A few users are mentioning that a "N" is appearing on the first line
of your messages. I'm trying to track down the problem but it baffles me
that (if set exactly the way I said to) it can possibly be different for
anyone unless they have added/removed certain prompts via PCBMKTXT. I'll
keep trying to track it down.
Added better documentation for the .cnf file. Remember that for those
of you running QFront on all nodes the %PCBNODE% variable can be substituted.
For those running one copy of QFront on one node (like I am on node 3 of my
BBS) just change the node number. Consult the .cnf file if I confused you.
:-)
If a user did not have the proper security to select a netmail option
but did anyway it would default to NONE. I fixed it so that it will ask
the question again instead.
I can now be reached via internet at john.lundell@citylite.com - feel
free to mail requests and/or comments.
Release Version 2.0b beta
-------------------------
Cosmetic fix on displayed version number of QF-MAIL.
When your search string resulted in no matches found the displays were
not clear as to what happened and once the prompt was answered it would then
prompt for the number of the correct address. This was quite messy and so
I fixed it so that is will display "No Matches Found" then ask whether you
would like to continue searching and if you answer NO then QF-Mail will exit.
The same fix was applied to the BROWSE feature.
(thanks David McCulloch) <- Note I started "thanking" like Rob does - I feel
it is a good policy to recognize those who helped
find errors and/or give their input resulting in
better code.
Release Version 2.0a beta
-------------------------
Ok, here we go.. I'm taking on the problems that have been reported about
the NODE id not showing up on exactly the first line of the message. Please
pay special attention to the documentation of how it is set up because if you
do not set it up correctly chances are the FIDOnet Address that needs to be on
the first line of the message will not show up there and in some cases may get
cut off. I tested it on my own BBS with my own users settings for Full Screen
Editor as Yes, No and Ask and it works for me. This is why I am releasing
this so that it can be tested on others BBS's and I can get a good idea of
how to better formulate how the info is stuffed to the keyboard.
If the user does not have a security level high enough to chose ANY of the
routing options then they will not be displayed at all.
If the user has high enough security for some but not all of the options
it will only display the ones allowed to the user. This was requested instead
of just displaying all the options then telling them their security was not
high enough to use that option.
I still do not have the necessary information for adding Internet routing
as a third option to QF-Mail. Once I get the information I will add that
as well.
The REply option is in the works.. this one will be tricky and may not
be possible?
Look for a version that will handle routing to Compuserve, MCI Mail etc.
in an Internetmail conference!
Release Version 1.0d
--------------------
With the wide area beta test release of QFront, QF-Mail has been tested
and I have had many sysops report that it is not functioning for them. I
am in the process of rewriting the entire thing including as many suggestions
as I have gotten and will release it as QF-Mail 2.0 sometime early Jan 1994.
Recompiled with PCBoard v.15.1 PPL (beta) compiler
Check the documentation for updates/help in some common installation
problems. No 'code' changes made as of yet.
Release Version 1.0c
--------------------
Fixed QFront 5.12c changes in the filename that holds the search text.
It was changed from just QSEARCH.DAT to QSRCH###.DAT where ### is the number
of the node the caller is on.
Release Version 1.0b
--------------------
Very minor fix noticed at last minute after I had uploaded 1.0a.
Release Version 1.0a
--------------------
Initial release version, has only been tested on City Lites BBS - please
report any problems to me if any are found.
Added for new QFront "DIRECT" Status.
Now clearing the screen before displaying search matches.
Added 4 lines to QF-MAIL.CFG to check security of user, thus eliminating
just any user from running up your phone bills.
Added UNREGISTERED VERSION prompt - please read QF-MAIL.REG for info
on registering QF-MAIL.
Changed a few prompts - some may still be unclear.
NOTE: Rob Kittredge has been more than helpful in testing QF-MAIL out and
offering suggestions. Many of the new features and fixes were added
because of his testing and comments. I'm open for suggestions from
anyone else - please contact me at City Lites BBS (read .doc file).
