PCBWHO was made for one reason - To exclude someone from the node display.
There are many Sysop's who always have their chat mode toggled to
'Unavailable for CHAT'. However, with some users, they would leave you a
message and hope you read it saying:
'Hi - I am on the other node, can you chat with me?'
Yes, some Sysops can be annoyed at this. Sometimes it would be better
if the user never knew he/she was even *on* the system! Here's the only
solution - PCBWHO. When PCBWHO executes, it reads each nodes' current
Status and User Name. If the User Name being displayed is found in the
LURK.LST file (which you create), then the user will be excluded from
the display.
PCBWHO is a SEAMLESS WHO interface for your PCBoard system. All prompts
and colors are totally configurable. Unlike the internal PCBoard WHO
display, which will not let you edit the color scheme, PCBWHO allows you
to edit any field.
PCBWHO has also been tested on a RAM Drive - It's extremely fast when
running off of a RAM Drive! :)
NOTE: This version will only work with PCBoard 15.1 systems! If you need
to obtain a model to work with 15.0, please call our board and leave a
comment to the Sysop.

│▒▒▒▒▒ OPTIONS (Command line options, etc.) ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒│
└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
■ Versions 1.5 and higher will add the ability for those names in
predefined in the LURK.LST file to toggle their Lurk status ON or
OFF. In order to have this option, they MUST first be placed in this
file.
■ Thanks to Juerg Loeffler (See WHOTEXT.GER), PCBWHO's zipfile contents
now contains German translations for the WHOTEXT file and the
CHATCMD.PPS. Inside the CHATCMD.PPS, it will now detect if the user
is using the German language. If so, German prompts will be displayed
instead of English. Note: You should change the source code around if
you are using a different German extension.
■ Versions 1.4 and higher have multi-lingual capabilities. PCBWHO will
read a filename called WHOTEXT.<ext> where <ext> is the extension of
the language. If the caller (for example) has selected German
(PCBTEXT.GER) and a file called WHOTEXT.GER does NOT exist, PCBWHO
will then read the default WHOTEXT file.
■ If a file called LURK.LST exists in PCBWHO's directory, it will be
read. The name(s) in this file will be excluded from the WHO display.
■ PCBWHO supports full color configurability. Colors can be configured
for the Node #, Status information, user name, user city, or the
'Lurking' color (When a node is lurked).
■ PCBWHO will display a file called PCBWHO.HDR before continuing with
the node display. This file is the 'Header' file.

PCBWHO is made for PCBoard systems - It can only be run on versions 15.1
and higher because of code changes. To install, just follow the simple
instructions below:
[1] - Make the MAIN directory to hold the PCBWHO files and copy
the original zip file contents into this directory.
Preferred: C:\PCB\PPE\PCBWHO
[2] - Executed PCBSETUP, go into "File Locations" and then into
"Configuration Files".
[3] - Edit the default .CMD by press F2 on the field and add:
and Security PPE/MNU File -or- Keystroke Replacement
══════════════ ════════ ═══════════════════════════════════════
1) WHO C:\PCB\PPE\PCBWHO\PCBWHO.PPE
There are no command line options in PCBWHO. Once it is
executed, it will look for the PCBWHO.CFG in the directory
PCBWHO is located in.
[4] - After adding the commands to the .CMD file list, save it by
pressing ESC and answer "Y". (Simple, eh?) :)
[5] - Exit PCBSETUP, use a text editor and edit a file called
LURK.LST in the PCBWHO's home directory. Add the name(s)
of the people who will be able to 'Lurk' on your system.
When someone is 'Lurked' - He/She will not be shown in
the WHO display. (This can be useful for a Sysop who
is annoyed continuously from users trying to CHAT with
him) <g> Once you're done adding the name(s), save the
file and go onto the next step.
[6] - There is an included PCBWHO.HDR file within the release
you downloaded. This Header file is displayed before the
Nodes are being displayed. To alter the way this looks,
use PCBEDIT.EXE (or another similar program) and change
it to your likings.
[7] - The last step which you have to do is edit the PCBWHO.CFG
file. Inside the Configuration file, there are definitions
for what each line represents - Configure it to preferences.
[8] - Once all the above steps are completed, PCBWHO will be ready
for execution!
