Use Open to load a Meta file, following these steps.

 1. Select the down arrow to the right of the Drive list to display all the
    drives on your system.
 2. Select a drive from the Drive list.
 3. Select a directory from the Directory list.
 4. Select a file name from the File list or type in a file name.
 5. Select the Open pushbutton to display the puzzle you want to view.

For a detailed explanation of each field, select from the list below:

Type the name of the file you want to open in the Open filename field and
select the Open pushbutton.

Select the down arrow to the right of the Type of file field to display the
available file types.  The Trace Formatter has set this field for all file
types.

The Drive list displays the drives on your system.  Select the drive that
contains the files you want to view.

The File list displays all the files in the directory you selected from the
Directory list.  Select the file you want to open.

The Directory list displays the directories on the selected drive.  Select a
directory to display the list of files from that directory in the File list
box.

Select a hardware configuration that closely matches your pc will allow PM$tock
adjusts itself to gain maximun performance. The default selection is
386SX_16Mhz with 4MB Ram.

PM$tock is a stock analyser. It features:

o Download stock quotes manually and automatically;
o Chart stock with techical analysis;
o Print chart.

Useful tips:

o Question: I have a SVGA card, but can not run the Prodigy in a Dos Window
  session. Answer: When install the Prodigy, select MCGA as the display adapter
  type.

o Question: When I use MCGA diaplay type, the Prodigy's resolution is too low.
  Answer: Install another copy of the Prodigy with a VGA display adapter type.

o If you get following message when starting to download:

              Your session cannot be launched.

    Please install your software again before you sign-on to the service.
    Refer to your handbook for more information.

  make sure the Prodigy path are included in your DOS PATH and APPEND
  environment variables inside the AUTOEXEC.BAT.

o Use OS/2 Systems Editor to create key files; Do not use line editors which
  will not preserve the TAB key;

o Use the TAB key to move Prodigy cursor;

o Set a late download time to avoid Prodigy traffic.

o If you are leaving out of town, set multiple download time to reduce errors.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 18. Help for Download stock quotes ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

PM$tock allows you to download Prodigy stock quotes automatically.

With PM$tock, you can schedule your download at any time of the day, week,
month or year. To prepare download, you must:

 1. Have your Prodiay software installed properly on OS/2.
 2. Create a key file that contains all the key sequences like you normally use
    to Prodigy.
 3. Tell PM$tock which key file to use for download.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 19. Help for Collect daily quote for a stock ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Once you have downloaded each day's stock quotes, you will need to collect them
for each stock symbol, so that later, a chart can be drawn.

To collect daily quote:

 1. Select Chart->Collect data->Prodigy format->Current price->text/delimited;
 2. Select a stock symbol;
 3. Select all files that were downloaded previously for each day.
 4. PM$tock will collect quotes from files you selected, do necessary process,
    and save them in a file for use later.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 20. Help for using chart ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

After all data have been collected, a chart can be drawn by selecting:

o Chart->Stock->Show closing chart;
o Chart->Stock->Show full chart;

Note:  You must have more than two weeks data in order to see a decent chart.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 21. Help for limitations ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Current limitations are:

o Number of keys in you key file is limited to 128. However, you can create
  multiple key files, or use shorter names;
o Download sessions are limited to 64;
o Does not support special symbols.
o PM$tock may not work properly when using OS/2 keyboard locking feature.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 22. Help for font ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Select proper font will make the chart looks like the way you want.

To select, options->font.

Note:  We recommend to use vector font for graphics presentation.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 23. Help for registration ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

The Register dialog prompts you for your Name and Serial Number. Before you go
to this dialog, you should register the PM$tock with PMPlus and receive a
serial number.

Once you have properly registered the PM$tock, the Registration information
screen will no longer appear unless you select it.

 The Ok button will verify the License Information and register the PM$tock.

The Cancel button will close the dialog but will not register the product.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 24. Help for set download ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Set download is designed to reduce your daily routine work. By carefully set up
download time for each day, you can even leave out of town for month without
worrying about downloading your stocks.

There are two ways to set up automatically download:

 1. Special download.
 2. Daily download.

    To set up a special download, select Download->Automatic download->Special
    download, and fill in year, month, day, hour, and minute when you want to
    start download, and key file and Prodigy path. The command field allows you
    to specify an OS/2 command to execute after each downloading, i.e., to
    rename the downloaded file.
 3. Repeat the first step until all downloads are set up.
 4. Select Download->Set download->View download to view your download
    schedule.
 5. Once selected, downloading procedure is immediately activated.

To select a stock symbol:

o Type your stock symbol, or
o Select the one from the list.

To display Registration information, select Chart->Registration info from the
action bar menu.

The Registration information dialog displays information related to registering
the PM$tock.

The Register button will display the Register screen where you may register the
product.

The I agree button will close this dialog and return to the main panel.

The Cancel button will close the dialog and quit the PM$tock.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 27. Help for multiple file open ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

 1. Select the down arrow to the right of the Drive list to display all the
    drives on your system.
 2. Select a drive from the Drive list.
 3. Select a directory from the Directory list.
 4. Select file(s) from the File list.
 5. Select the Open pushbutton.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 28. Help for technical analysis ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Select different period of moving average and examine the short-term/long-term
trend of the stock. A buy signal should be considered when prices break above
the moving average line, or a sell signal should be considered when prices
break below the moving average line.

Warning: PM$tock is NOT a substitute for common sense or sound financial
advice. It can be a valuable computing aid in the analysis of stock data and
can be great assistance in making buy/sell decisions. Please consult experts on
how to trade on moving averages.

By selecting File->Print, PM$tock will send the chart to your printer.

To create a key file:

 1. Use system editor (the e editor) provided by OS/2;
 2. Create a text file, and put all the key sequences, like you normally use
    Prodigy, in it, including TAB and ENTER keys.
 3. Use TAB to move your Prodigy cursor instead of using arrow keys.
 4. Save the file.

Warning: Use stream editor, instead of line editor. Line editors, i.e.
enchanced editor's(epm.exe) default setting, will not preserve TAB keys.

 Refer Prodigy THE HANDBOOK for more information, or call Prodigy customer
service [phone] for assistant.

Please verify Prodigy installation by:  Type {path}\prodigy.exe in a OS/2
session at the subdirectory where you are going to start PM$tock. If you are
not able to start Prodigy, check if Prodigy path is included in you PATH and
APPEND in the AUTOEXEC.BAT.

Warning: Do not proceed until you can start Prodigy from the OS/2 session.

There are currently three ways to tell PM$tock how to download:

o Download from action_bar choice;
o Set up download times, and relax;
o Download from command line option.

We recommend you start with action bar download. After you are comfortable with
it, set up download times for every day downloading.

Please enter the full path of Prodigy:

i.e.,

   c:\prodigy\prodigy.bat


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 36. Help for action bar download ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Two steps to follow for action bar downloading:

 1. Select Download->Set Prodigy path... to set up the Prodigy path;
 2. Select Option->Select  Download... to select a key file and download.
 3. You will see PM$tock starts a Prodigy session and executes keys from your
    key file.

Warning: You must have Prodigy path set up before selecting a key file.

Note:  You must also have your Prodigy path included in DOS session's PATH and
APPEND parameters in your AUTOEXEC.BAT.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 37. Help for command line download ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

You can specify download from the command line. The format is:

  pmstock.exe -Auto -K[key file] -P[Prodigy path]

  Options:
    -A: Tell PM$tock start to download soon as being invoked;
    -K: Full path of the key file name;
    -P: Full path of the Prodigy.

  i.e.
     pmstock.exe -A -Kc:\prodigy\key.txt -Pc:\prodigy\prodigy.exe

Note:  You must specify all three options.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 38. Help for show closing chart ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Show closing chart will draw a chart with daily closing price. Red wave shows
the moving average.

Note:  You must have more than two weeks data in order to see a decent chart.

Show full chart will draw a chart with daily high, low and closeing prices. Red
wave shows the moving average.

Note:  You must have more than two weeks data in order to see a decent chart.

This dialog is designed to give you a test drive, show you what key file is
looked like. You can modify the key file with an editer for your own purposes
later.

Please enter your Prodigy ID and password. PM$tock will create a key file,
named keysdemo.txt, and use the key file to logon to the Prodigy, jump to Quote
Track, and logout immediately.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 42. Help for hardware speed ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

PM$tock will adjust its performance according to the machine's speed. It'll be
a good idea to start with a slower hardware configuration, and move up later.


ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 43. Help for set daily download ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

Set daily download allows you to set up a download time once for all. Once
setup, it will start to download stock prices on every weekdays at the same
time.

To set up daily download:

 1. Select Download->Automatic download->Set daily download->, and fill in hour
    and minute when you want to start download, key-file, and Prodigy path. The
    command field allows you to specify an OS/2 command to execute after each
    downloading, i.e., to rename the downloaded file.
 2. Once selected, downloading procedure is immediately activated.
 3. Select Download->Set download->View download to view your current schedule.
