  6.  INSTALLATION
  7.  
  8. Run the friendly installation program (install.exe) supplied
  9. with the package. You can install from floppy or hard disk.
  10. The only constraint is that all the PMdiff files must be in
  11. the same source directory.
  12.  
  13. Should you wish to uninstall PMdiff, simply run the 
  14. uninstallation program, uninst.cmd.

  17.  GENERAL NOTES
  18.  
  19. PMdiff makes extensive use of drag and drop. Use it to load
  20. files or change colours and fonts. Experiment with the second
  21. mouse button. It activates a pop-up menu containing many useful
  22. features.

  24. The on-line help is comprehensive, although not all items are
  25. available from General Help. Check out the Help Index to make
  26. sure that you don't miss anything.

  28. Two pairs of sample files are provided:

  30.     hippo1.txt, hippo2.txt
  31.    and    mary1.txt, mary2.txt
  32.  
  33. You may wish to try comparing these.

  37.  EVALUATION VERSION
  38.  
  39. PMdiff is the result of many months of dedicated development
  40. effort. It exists in evaluation and licensed versions.
  41.  
  42. The two version are identical, except that the evaluation
  43. version does not allow preferences to be saved. You may
  44. distribute the evaluation version freely, and use it for up to
  45. 21 days. If you find it useful then you are asked to register
  46. it. This won't cost you much, and will gain you
  47.  
  48.     * a disk containing the latest licensed version
  49.       allowing preferences to be saved
  50.  
  51.     * free support via snail-mail and e-mail
  52.  
  53.     * the satisfaction of supporting good OS/2 software
  54.  
  55.     * a clean conscience

  58. for details about registration. You may like to use the text
  59. file order.frm to help you place your order.

  63.  LICENSED VERSION
  64.  
  65. The licensed version of PMdiff allows you to save your
  66. preferences between sessions. This is intended as an incentive
  67. to register. [Note: only two (yes, 2) registrations have been
  68. received to date, so this obviously isn't too much of an
  69. incentive :-(]

  71. You may install the licensed version on several machines.
  72. However, you must ensure that only the number of copies
  73. purchased are in use at any given time.
  74.  
  75. For example, perhaps you have bought only one copy. You can
  76. install it on your desktop office machine, and your laptop. Even
  77. your home machine. But PMdiff must be run on only one of the
  78. machines at any given time.
