You should have the following files:
GOPHER.EXE -- the executable for the Gopher client
GOPHER.HLP -- the help file for Gopher
LICENSE.TXT -- the license agreement
GOPHER.ABS -- a very brief description of this package
README.1ST -- this file
GOPHER.CHA -- changes since Gopher 1.00
GETFNAME.GPH -- a sample "get file name" Rexx exit for Gopher.
GOPHER.ICO -- an icon for Gopher
Note:
This is a "work in progress" version. The .HLP file has not been
updated to reflect the changes to the code; there are, therefore, many
places where help doesn't produce relevant help (or any help at all).
My apologies....David Singer
To use Gopher:
1) Ensure that you have IBM OS/2 TCP/IP Version 1.2.1 (or later), and
that your system is connected to a network with a Gopher server.
2) If you know the name of the Gopher server to which you'd like to
connect, type:
GOPHER name-of-server
3) If you want to connect to the default server (normally one of the
master servers at the University of Minnesota), just type:
GOPHER
Changes:
See the GOPHER.CHA file for changes since Gopher 1.00. There are many.
Known Bugs:
The default telnet client is specified incorrectly if you're using
TCP/IP Version 2.0.
The error message you get if Gopher can't find a telnet/tn3270 client
is incorrect and extremely garbaged up.
