MineSweeper version 1.2.1
Copyright (C) 1993, 1994 by David Charlap
All Rights Reserved
-------------------------
This program is an OS/2 2.x version of MineSweeper, a game distributed
by Microsoft as a part of their Entertainment Pack for Windows, and
included with Windows 3.1. I attempted to be faithful to the original
game when designing my interface, so current MineSweeper users will not
have any learning curve. I have added a few features not found in the
Microsoft game, and I plan to add more in the future.
MineSweeper is a 32-bit executable for use with the OS/2 operating
system version 2.0 or greater and it's Presentation Manager graphical
interface. It will not operate on 16-bit versions of OS/2, such as 1.2
and 1.3.
Installation is simple. Just unpack the ZIP file and put all of the
files in the same directory. The C runtime library used by Minesweeper
(DLLC101.DLL) may be moved to a directory on your LIBPATH, allowing it
to be shared by other programs that may use this DLL. (Anything
developed with GCC/2 2.5.4 will use it or a copy of it)
To run MineSweeper, either double click on it's icon or type "start
mine" from a text session. If you make a program reference icon for it,
be sure the startup directory is the same directory that the program and
its files reside in.
To learn how to play the game, choose "Extended Help" from the "Help"
menu and read the screens. They should describe the game completely.
Note that help will not be available unless the file MINE.HLP exists in
the same directory as the MINE.EXE program.
When you quit MineSweeper for the first time, a MINE.INI file will be
created in the program's directory. It will contain all your settings,
including the high scores and the window's position. To reset
everything, just delete this file and it will be created with blank data
the next time you run MineSweeper.

Please notify me of any bugs you may find so I may fix them in future
releases.
All releases of this program will be uploaded to the Internet via
anonymous ftp to cdrom.com. It should be found in the /os2/2_x/games
directory. While I may upload this package elsewhere, and others may
upload it wherever they choose, I guarantee that this site will have the
latest version I release.
