  2. IMPORTANT NOTICE:

  4. McAfee Associates released OS2SCAN version 2 the day after the release
  5. of AFE 2.3.  Unfortunately, they removed a couple of command line switches
  6. that existed in previous versions.
  7.  
  8. Because of this factor, AFE 2.3 will appear to "hang" when OS2SCAN is
  9. called, and only a reboot of the system will clear all the resources.

  11. AFE 2.31 is released to cure this problem and will run successfully as
  12. intended with the new OS2SCAN version.  Be forwarned, however, that it
  13. is NOT backward compatible with prior versions of OS2SCAN, and if run
  14. with a version prior to version 2, AFE 2.31 will report a VIRUS every
  15. time!

  17. I suppose I could have coded around the problem but that would also have
  18. required another user defined variable and more time. Since you are much,
  19. much better off running the newest version of McAfee's Virus Scan, I chose
  20. the above described solution.

  23. download it from McAfee's own BBS at (408) 988-3832.
