Inexpensive solution to remote file access
RemoteRetrieve offers the inexpensive solution to retrieving
files from your home or office computer, even when you're miles
away.
Features
It eliminates the hassle of modem transfers with its preset
modem configurations and preprogrammed high speed protocol. The
split window interface (showing local and remote directories and
files side by side) makes transferring files effortless. The
split-screen file manager can also be used to move, copy, delete,
and rename files on the local computer.
Bonus features
A unique file descriptor allows users to attach a description of
up to 80 characters to each file in order to facilitate immediate
file recognition. The voice to data feature permits conversion
from speaking on the phone to file transfer (or vice versa).
Another convenient feature is the remote file viewer which allows
previewing files before transferring them.
Running under Windows
RemoteRetrieve will run as a DOS application under Windows. It
can also be set to run in background, thus freeing up the Host
computer for others to use.
Registration
If you use this program, please register it. See the accompanying
order form ORDER.DOC.
If you obtained this program from a shareware distributor, the
money you paid for the program covered only the distributor's cost

you register the software.
Requirements
PC with 286 or higher
640K Ram
Hard Drive with 500KB free
2400 baud or higher modem

Installation Instructions if RemoteRetrieve came on a Disk
1. Put the floppy disk into either the A: or B: drive. At the DOS
prompt (for example C:\> ) type A:\install or B:\install,
depending on which drive the disk is in.
2. The installation routine will ask for the drive letter of your
hard disk where you want to install the program.
3. You will then be asked if the installation program can update
your AUTOEXEC.BAT program. The program defaults to YES. The
software will add the C:\REMRET directory to the path. If you
want to indicate "NO", use your mouse to click on the NO button.
If you are using your keyboard, press the TAB key until the NO
button is highlighted and then press the ENTER key.
NOTE: You will need to perform the installation and setup
procedures on both the remote and local computers.
If there was an error in the installation, you can use the DOS
'Copy' command to copy the file REMRET10.EXE to your hard disk
and then type REMRET10.EXE. REMRET10.EXE is a self-extracting
compressed file. After typing REMRET10.EXE you should see the
