  76.      MCOOK.EXE is Copyright (c) 1993 by NORSKi Software.

  78.           MicroCook is not, nor has ever been, public domain or free
  79.      software. MicroCook is distributed as Shareware. Shareware is the
  80.      best type of software, it's software you can try before you pay
  81.      for it! Paying for Shareware is called "registering." If you
  82.      bought a copy of this software through a disk vendor, paid to
  83.      download the software from a BBS, or got a copy from a friend;
  84.      you did NOT register it.

  86.           The registered version of MicroCook may not be duplicated
  87.      other than for backup purposes. A registered copy of MicroCook
  88.      must be treated like a book, in that the same registered copy of
  89.      MicroCook may not be used in more than one computer at the same
  90.      time, just as a book cannot be handled and read by more than one
  91.      person at the same time.

  93.           When you register MicroCook, you are paying me for the time
  94.      and effort that went into, and continues to go into developing
  95.      MicroCook. It is also the ONLY legal way for you to continue
  96.      using the program after the 30 days trial period.

  98.           To register, type in REGISTER from the directory where all
  99.      the MicroCook files are. This will execute a batch file which
  100.      will print 2 sheets with the necessary information for
  101.      registration of the MicroCook and the accompanying recipes. We
  102.      hope you will register for both, but please register at least the
  103.      part of this program package you will be using. See RECIPES.DOC
  104.      for information about future addition of recipes and the upgrade
  105.      program.

  107.           Registered users of the MicroCook database program will
  108.      receive at least one (1) free upgrade during the first year after
  109.      registration, and unlimited technical support. But PLEASE only
  110.      call between 6 and 9 PM CDT weekdays! Users that have questions
  111.      during the evaluation period can contact me by mail, or on GEnie
  112.      (TM) (GE Information Services) or CompuServe (TM). And of course,
  113.      registered users can also contact me there.

  116.           You are granted a limited license to use the Shareware
  117.      version of MicroCook for a limited evaluation period of up to 30
  118.      days, in order to determine if it suits your needs. Any other
  119.      use of MicroCook or use past this period requires registration.

  123.           You are granted a limited license to copy the Shareware
  124.      version of MicroCook only for the purpose of allowing others to
  125.      try it, subject to the above restrictions as well as these:
  126.      MicroCook must be distributed in absolutely unmodified form,
  127.      including ALL program, documentation, and other files.

  129.           MicroCook may not be included with any other product for any
  130.      reason whatsoever without a license from NORSKi Software.
  131.           No charge or payment may be levied or accepted for MicroCook 
  132.      without written permission from NORSKi Software.

  134.           Bulletin Board system operators may post the unregistered,
  135.      Shareware Edition of MicroCook on their BBS for downloading by
  136.      their users without written permission only if the above
  137.      conditions are met, and only if no special fee is necessary to
  138.      access the MicroCook files.

  140.           Distributors of User Supported and Public Domain software
  141.      can distribute MicroCook without permission from NORSKi Software,
  142.      as long as only standard copying, shipping and handling fees are
  143.      charged to the customer. But please notify NORSKi Software that
  144.      you are distributing MicroCook, so I can supply you with the most
  145.      recent version and upgrades.

  147.           When you register you will receive a small "key file" with
  148.      the serial number and your name. Place this file in the SAME
  149.      directory as MCOOK.EXE. This file is for YOU only, and must NOT
  150.      be distributed with any copies you give to your friends or upload
  151.      to BBS's (which you are encouraged to do). The Key disables all
  152.      the "Please Register!" messages and the time delayed opening and
  153.      ending screens so the program will start running without delay.
  154.      I added these "features" as reminders to unregistered users, not
  155.      to harass them. The unregistered version and the registered
  156.      version are identical in functions, except for these messages.
  157.      Please keep a copy of the Key file in a safe place, since you
  158.      have to pay a $5.00 S&H fee to get a new one.  
  159.           Also, registered users will receive an ASCII Editor for
  160.      editing of ASCII recipe files in other formats than MicroCook's.
  161.      This editor is NOT to be given away, uploaded to bulletin boards
  162.      (BBS), or distributed in any way. 
  163.           To print out the documentation included with MicroCook, type
  164.      PRINTDOC from the directory where all the MicroCook files are
  165.      located. This will execute a batch file that will print out the
  166.      documents and the manual that's included with MicroCook. If you
  167.      are printing to a continuous feed printer (DOT-Matrix), you
  168.      should locate the first page perforation about 1 inch above where
  169.      the print head is located. This will format the text better on
  170.      the page.
