Your first consideration should be station location. Hams put their
equipment in many places. Some use the basement or attic, while others
choose the den, kitchen, closet or a spare bedroom. Some hams with
extremely limited space have even built their station into a small closet,
with a fold out shelf and folding chair to form an operating position.
Where you finally decide to put your station depends on the room you have
available and on your personal tastes. There are, however, several
requirements to keep in mind while searching for the ideal location. Figure
9.1 shows several amateur stations, with a variety of equipment arrangements
and locations. +
