  4. and Packet Radio.

  6. This news is broadcast during the first full week commencing Monday each
  7. month, to the following schedule..
  8.  
  9. Evening transmissions at 1930 GMT. on 3.584 MHz. Mark. +/- for QRM.
  10. RTTY on Monday-AFSK, Wednesday-AFSK and Friday-FSK
  11. Pactor-FEC on Tuesday.
  12. Amtor-FEC on Thursday and Saturday.

  14. Morning transmission at 1000 GMT. on 7.041 MHz. Mark. +/- for QRM.
  15. RTTY on Sunday-AFSK.

  27. Due to pressure of other work, Ian Wade (G3NRW) is unable to continue editing
  28. "Packet International" and has resigned his position on the committee. The
  29. Packet pages will continue under another author.

  31. Andy (G3ZYP) has volunteered to adopt the work of BARTG Publicity Officer.
  32. This will relieve some of the pressure from BARTG Secretary Ian Brothwell
  33. (G4EAN).

  68. The BARTG VHF/UHF RTTY contest open to all in CQ zones 14 and 15 runs from
  69. 1000 until 1500 on Sunday 10th April.
  70. 144 - 432 - 1296 MHz bands excluding repeaters.
  71. Exchange message is Time of QSO (GMT), RST report and Maidenhead Locator.
  72. Score in accordance with the distance chart for 144 and 432 MHz.
  73. 0 to 50 Km = 1 Point.
  74. 50 to 100 Km = 3 points and pro-rata.
  75. For 1296 MHz score 1 point per Km.
  76. Separate classes for (A) Single operator. (B) Multi operator and
  77. (C) Short Wave Listener.
  78. Entry logs must be post marked no later than May 9 to qualify.

  85. The SARTG Amtor contest starts Saturday April 16 with 3 periods of operation.
  86. 0000-0800 Saturday April 16.
  87. 1600-2400 Saturday April 16.
  88. 0800-1600 Sunday April 17.
  89. All 5 HF bands 80 to 10 metres. Stations may be contacted once per band for
  90. QSO points and multiplier credit.

  92. This contest is Amtor only using FEC mode for CQ calls and ARQ for contest
  93. exchange. Contest exchange in any other mode is subject to disqualification.
  94.  
  95. Exchange message is RST - Own name - and three digit QSO serial number
  96. starting 001.
  97.  
  98. Classes:
  99. (A) Single operator all bands.
  100. (B) Single operator single band.
  101. (C) Multi operator single TX all bands.
  102. (D) Short Wave Listener all bands.
  103. A single operator all band may also enter a single band class.
  104.  
  105. Scoring:
  106. (5) Points for QSO with own country.
  107. (10) Points for QSO with other countries in own continent.
  108. (15) Points for QSO with other continents.
  109.  
  110. Multipliers:
  111. Each country on the current DXCC countries list including the first contact
  112. with - W - VE - VK - and JA - plus each call district in - W - VE - VK - and JA
  113. - count as separate multipliers on each band.

  115. Total score = Sum of QSO points times sum of multipliers on each band.
  116.  
  117. Short Wave Listeners use same rules but based on stations and messages copied.

  119. Logs must be received by June 10, 1994 and must contain a separate sheet for
  120. each band plus an overall summary sheet. Copies of the full rules are available
  121. from the editor with SASE please.
