  1.               Ted WILDY's Marriage Witness Indexes

  4.               The UK Index started in July 1988 now stands at over 30,000
  5.     entries. Each entry includes the names of Witnesses, Groom & Bride,
  6.     together with the date and place of the marriage and the name and
  7.     address of the genealogist who researched that marriage and submitted
  8.     the data for the Index. There are separate indexes for NZ and
  9.     Australian Marriage witness.

  32.     Submissions/Entries.
  33.     Any genealogist can submit entries to these indexes by forwarding the
  34.     details of their ancestors' marriages to one of the above named.
  35.     Please make sure that you enclose your own name and address.
  36.     Please also adopt the normal convention of writing surnames in UPPER
  37.     CASE letters and given names in Lower Case e.g James HOWARD or Howard
  38.     JAMES.

  40.     Searches:-
  41.     Searches of the indexes can be requested from any of the above named,
  42.     but please bear in mind that with the more common names you should
  43.     include a geographical or date limitation to avoid lengthy lists of
  44.     persons unrelated to your family. Please don't ask for a specific
  45.     marriage to be searched for as the search will almost always prove
  46.     fruitless, unless your distant cousin is a genealogist and has
  47.     submitted his/her ancestors' marriages to the index.
  48.     Postal searches cost 50cents (30pence) per surname to be searched for
  49.     plus return postage / SAE.
