Ted WILDY's Marriage Witness Indexes
------------------------------------
The UK Index started in July 1988 now stands at over 30,000
entries. Each entry includes the names of Witnesses, Groom & Bride,
together with the date and place of the marriage and the name and
address of the genealogist who researched that marriage and submitted
the data for the Index. There are separate indexes for NZ and
Australian Marriage witness.

Submissions/Entries.
Any genealogist can submit entries to these indexes by forwarding the
details of their ancestors' marriages to one of the above named.
Please make sure that you enclose your own name and address.
Please also adopt the normal convention of writing surnames in UPPER
CASE letters and given names in Lower Case e.g James HOWARD or Howard
JAMES.
Searches:-
Searches of the indexes can be requested from any of the above named,
but please bear in mind that with the more common names you should
include a geographical or date limitation to avoid lengthy lists of
persons unrelated to your family. Please don't ask for a specific
marriage to be searched for as the search will almost always prove
fruitless, unless your distant cousin is a genealogist and has
submitted his/her ancestors' marriages to the index.
Postal searches cost 50cents (30pence) per surname to be searched for
plus return postage / SAE.
