Renegade Graphics Doom Editor
Version 1.0
The complete installation of the editor requires approx 1.4MB disk space
including VBRUN300.DLL.
To install from this ZIP file:
1)Delete any previously installed version including subdirs
2)Create a directory called DOOMED
3)Extract this zip file into it
4)Run DOOMED.EXE
If you are installing this over a previously existing version, you
should delete the other version first. If you previously extracted out
the graphics YOU SHOULD DELETE THE BMPS DIRECTORY COMPLETELY. The
editor will re-build the required files the first time you run it.
It is no longer neccessary for you to edit a file to indicate the location
of the DOOM.WAD file, you will be prompted for it the first time you
run the editor.
The only thing that must be done by hand is copying the TEST.BAT file into
the DOOM directory and modifying TEST.PIF with the Windows PIF editor.
This only needs to be done if your DOOM directory is not C:\DOOM and
you intent to run Doom test sessions from within the editor (8MB or more
of ram required, 12MB recommended).
Note that the TEST.BAT startup line specifies -nomonsters. If you want to
perform testing with the monsters present remove this option.
There is still alot of research going on. Updated versions of the help
file and program will continue to be made available on the BBS as they
are completed.
Enjoy!
