Welcome!!! February, 1994
Updates in release 1.5a of the GEN7 Desktop:
Error or problem corrections:
1) Errors with the On-Screen clock were eliminated.
2) Copyrights and Compuserve IDs were updated.
3) The Accountant module passed beta test.
4) The music data distributed with the Bible Study
programs was corrected.
5) Small errors in the distributed batch files were
corrected.
6) The error in the /Xxxxxxxxx option was corrected,
Icons may be executed without a problem now.
New Additions and updates:
1) G7BOOT.EXE was added to allow running external
programs, and only approximately 9200 bytes
of available program space is used! When GEN7
is reentered, it is restarted from scratch, but
approximately 590K of free space exists in the
DOS Shell when running programs or exitting to
the shell (for a typical 640K system). A batch
file: BOOTG7.BAT is used to start GEN7 in this
mode. The old batch file: G7.BAT is still
available, but approximately 150K of DOS free
space exists if this option is used. Beware:
do not try to run G7BOOT.EXE directly, or it
will not work as expected.
New Announcements:
1) Look for the GEN7 Program Manager soon. All
Icons installed in the Desktop can be displayed
on the screen, and they may be executed with a
mouse click. The size of the Program Manager is
smaller than GEN7, and it is faster to load.
The registration fee for the Program Manager is
planned to be $10 also.
2) A version of GEN7 will be made available that
will have over 200K program space free (instead
of approx. 83K) to allow huge files to be editted.
Please have a good time with this software, and register!
