  5. ATTENTION ALL USERS -- PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLING

  7. This is v3.00 BETA 1 of the Stealth Pro Install / Windows Drivers 
  8. disk.  While this driver has completed 2 levels and over 200 hours
  9. of compatibility testing, Diamond has not completed full testing 
  10. of these files.  By using this BETA disk, you are agreeing to 
  11. accept the risks of testing Windows drivers that have known and 
  12. unknown limitations.  Diamond offers NO warranty on this software.  
  13. Use at your own risk.  Please backup any system critical files 
  14. before installation.

  16. Installation Notes
  17. ------------------
  18. Use the INSTALL file to install the Windows 3.1 drivers from DOS 
  19. or from the Windows Program Manager.  It is suggested that 
  20. installation from the Windows Program Manager be done using the MS 
  21. VGA driver to eliminate any OEM files that could create a 
  22. conflict.

  24. Once the driver launches Windows, you will be prompted to select 
  25. your monitor type.  Select the brand monitor you have, compatible
  26. type, or use the Custom Monitor Timings to create your own 
  27. configuration and custom screen centering.

  29. STLMODE should be installed for all first-time operations.  This 
  30. program controls the frequencies sent to the monitor for all 
  31. non-Windows programs and will allow the high resolution and high 
  32. color modes to syncronize correctly on your screen.

  34. Utilities
  35. ---------
  36. STLMODE.EXE allows selection of text modes, video emulation modes, 
  37. and monitor mode frequencies for all environments outside of DOS.  
  38. Monitor timing information is saved to the EEPROM on the Stealth 
  39. Pro and is automatically loaded on powerup or reset.

  41. Users with monitors not conforming to the industry preset monitors
  42. provided can select the CUSTOM MONITOR option which allows 
  43. selection of frequencies, sync polarities, and screen centering 
  44. for each video resolution and color depth.  Please consult your 
  45. monitor manual for the exact capabilities of your monitor before 
  46. selecting monitor timing.  We strongly urge that selection of 
  47. monitor timings in CUSTOM be made for all resolutions and color 
  48. depths.
