WHAT IS SHAREWARE?
+----------------------------+
Welcome to the Shareware revolution. This remarkable method of software
distribution was co-pioneered in 1982 by Jim Button and Andrew Fluegelman.
It has become a major force in the computer industry, helping to reduce
software prices and eliminate copy protection schemes.
You are encouraged to copy the Client Connection, Jr. Shareware disk. Share
it freely with others. Please make copies of your original disk rather than
copying the installed program so the Install program is included. You have
the luxury of trying out the complete program, at your own pace and in the
comfort of your own home or work place. This is not a disabled or demo copy,
but the complete fully-functional working version of the program.
After you have used Client Connection, Jr. for a reasonable evaluation period
(1 month) you must either stop using it or buy a licensed copy from
Branchflower Software, Inc. or from an authorized software dealer.

HINTS & TIPS ON USING Client Connection, Jr.
+----------------------------------------------+
+------------------------------------+
1. TO SETUP Client Connection, Jr.
+------------------------------------+
Client Connection, Jr. is designed to work on any IBM 100% compatible computer
running DOS 3.2 or higher. You may also run Client Connection, Jr. in Windows
3.x.
In Windows 3.x you need at least 1MB RAM (more is highly recommended), and a
minimum of 1MB available disk storage.
To begin using Client Connection, Jr., you must install it to a hard drive.
Type "INSTALL [FLOPPY DISK DRIVE]: [HARD DRIVE]:" to copy the compressed
files to the hard drive, decompress them and install the program.
Installation can be run either from Windows Program Manager or from the
DOS command line.
The INSTALL program creates the directory \CCJR, on your C drive,
decompresses all of the files from the two EXE files. They contain all
files needed to run Client Connection, Jr..
+----------------------------------+
2. Installing through Windows
+----------------------------------+
To install Client Connection, Jr. using Windows:
1. Start Windows.
2. Switch to the Windows Program Manager.
3. Choose Run from the Program Manager's File menu.
4. Type "[FLOPPY DISK W/ INSTALLATION DISK]:INSTALL [FLOPPY DISK DRIVE]:
[HARD DRIVE]:" in the text box.
Example with installation disk in the A drive:
a:install a: c:

available from PROGRAM.EXE. We usually use the shaking hands.
5. Make your selection and click on OK. The icon appears in the program item
box. Click OK again and your selection will be stored.
If you have trouble installing Client Connection, Jr., it may be due to
insufficient memory. To see how much memory is available, switch to the
Program Manager and choose About Program Manager from the Help menu. This
displays an information box. The amount of free memory is shown on the next
to last line of the box. If this amount is less than 485 KB you may have
problems installing Client Connection, Jr..
Here are some ideas for freeing up more memory:
If you have a 386sx computer or higher, run Windows in 386 Mode. To do
this, exit Windows and type WIN /3 at the DOS command line to restart
Windows.
If you are already running in 386 Mode and still don't have enough memory,
refer to your Windows manual for information on how to increase Virtual
Memory using Swap Files.
If you are running a 286 computer close all programs except Program Manager
before trying to install Client Connection, Jr.. Also, choose the Control
Panel icon in the Main group window, then choose the Desktop icon in the
Control Panel and set Wallpaper and Screen Saver options to "(None)".
DIALING PROBLEMS
If you have trouble dialing with Client Connection, Jr., it could be due to
several things.
1) Incorrect Modem settings. You set up your modem in the UTILITIES part
of the program. Choose UTILITIES and then Modem Information to check your
settings. There are two things that can effect your modem: 2. Baud Rate
and 3. Communication Port. There are only two settings for modem: 300 and
1200 baud. If you modem operates at higher speeds, choose 1200 baud.
2) Incorrect COM port. Make sure the program is configured to dial from the
correct COM port. If you are using either an external or internal modem, you
may be able to check the switch settings on your modem to determine which COM
port your modem is assigned to. Refer to your modem's documentation. After
you are sure which COM port your modem is using, choose UTILITIES from the
Main menu. Select Modem Information. Type the correct Comm port into
the number 3. Communication Port" box.
3) Other possible problems: Your printer is connected to this COM port. Change
setting on modem. Make sure the modem is on and hooked up to the phone line.
Make sure there are no other programs using the modem.
MODEM IS HOOKED UP CORRECTLY - YOU CAN NOT HEAR THE PARTY YOU CALLED
When you dial the number using the program you are using the modem to dial
the number. After the number is dialed, press any key on your keyboard and
the control of the phone line will be returned to your phone. You should now
be able to hear the party the program dialed for you.
