What is 2TSHOP ?
2TSHOP is a conversion program written specifically for the TeleShoppe(tm)
online shopping door. 2TSHOP will convert your INGRAM MICRO or MERISEL
database over to the TeleShoppe 2.10 format and allow you to put literally
thousands of items online instantly!.
What it is not:
2TSHOP is not a database processor. It does not reverse engineer any other
database types. This program strictly opens up the requested database and
extracts the compatible data and then rewrites the TeleShoppe(tm) database.
New Items:
2TSHOP now allows users of the Ingram Micro database decide whether thier
users will be shown the categories in the VENDORS or the MAJORCAT format.
If vendors are selected then the vendors name will be the categories
listing. If the MajorCat format is desired then the categories database
supplied with Ingram's database will be used to select the categories.
Usage:
Using 2TSHOP is very simple and straight forward. If you enter on the
command line 2TSHOP without any arguments you will be presented with the
default help screen:
________________________________________________________________________
Program Usage: 2TShop <Type File> <% of Markup> <Category|Ingram Only>
Where <Type File> is either - INGRAM
- MERISEL
Where <% of Markup> is a percentage (ie., .20)
Where <Category> is either - MAJORCAT (For INGRAM DB ONLY!)
- VENDOR '' ''
example: To convert the INGRAM MICRO database with a 20 percent markup,
using the MAJOR categories enter: 2TShop INGRAM .20 MAJORCAT
example: To convert the MERISEL database with a 10 percent markup, enter:
2TShop MERISEL .10
________________________________________________________________________
First copy the 2TSHOP.EXE file to your database directory (ie., \INGRAM
or \MERISEL).
There are two (2) required command line entries for the Merisel DB and
3 for the Ingram database and they must be made in the following manner.
The first command line entry is the TYPE of file you are converting. If
you are using the INGRAM database your required entry is INGRAM, if you
are using MERISEL's database your required entry would be MERISEL.
So far your command line looks like :
2TSHOP INGRAM or
2TSHOP MERISEL
The next command line entry is the markup percentage. This is the ACROSS
THE BOARD markup that you want 2TSHOP to put in the database as your
markup percentage. If you want to charge 17 percent across the board you
will enter .17 (Don't forget the decimal point!).
So now your command line would look like one of the following:
2TSHOP MERISEL .15 // Merisel with a 15% markup
2TSHOP INGRAM .17 // Ingram with a 17% markup
2TSHOP INGRAM 1 // Ingram with a 100% markup
Lastly if your using the Ingrams database you have to enter what will be
used as the category listing that is shown to your users. Normally TSHOP
will show the users the VENDORS NAME as the categories available. If you
desire to show these names you must put VENDOR as the last command line
option:
2TSHOP INGRAM .17 VENDOR //Ingram with a 17% markup and vendor names
If you desire 2TSHOP to read the MAJORCAT database file and assign each
item to a major category then your required entry is MAJORCAT. Major
categories groups items under names such as ACCESSORIES, WORD PROCESSING,
etc....
2TSHOP INGRAM .17 MAJORCAT // Ingram with a 17% markup and major
// category names
In the conversion process, 2TSHOP will take the additional comment line
in the INGRAM database and make a extended description out of it. The
Merisel database contains no such extra information.
and last of all, 2TSHOP is looking for the following file names:
INGRAM - CATALOG.DBF, MAJORCAT.DBF
MERISEL - MSDATA.DBF
To finish, you must copy the following files over to your TeleShoppe 2.10
directory:
TSHOP.DBF
TSHOP.NDX
TSHOP.DBT
TSHOP.CAT
End of 2TSHOP Documentation.
