  24.                                                        WHAT IS ROMDOOR?

  27. RomDoor is an online program which allows access to CD-ROMs and their vast
  28. storage capablities.  It offers:
  29.  
  30.     ■ The ablity to run from 1-32 CD-ROMs,
  31.     ■ ROMDOOR 3.10 now has IM support D/L ROMD31IM.ZIP
  32.     ■ ROMDOOR 3.10 is now DOOR.SYS compatible for all DOOR.SYS BBS's
  33.     ■ Up to 32,000 file areas, 1,000 per CD-ROM disk!
  34.     ■ Provides a seamless interface with WildCat!
  35.     ■ No need for 0 byte files
  36.     ■ Offers all the features of the WC! file section including:
  37.           Text searches
  38.           File viewing (Provided you have an archive viewing program
  39.            such as DataView)
  40.           Downloading with internal and external protocols
  41.           10 DOS HOOKS,  WC only has 2
  42.     ■ More powerful file listing ability then WC! including:
  43.           Scanning for text in area names
  44.           Jumping back and forth within an area
  45.     ■ Has an online statistics screen with the total files, bytes and
  46.       downloads of each file area
  47.     ■ Keeps it's own databases allowing for faster searches, unlike most
  48.       CD-ROM doors
  49.     ■ Allows the user to make file listings ON-LINE of specific file
  50.       areas, I.E. list the files to a text file which they can later
  51.       download
  52.     ■ Supports baud rates up to 115,000, as well as non-standard base
  53.       addresses and IRQs
  54.     ■ Does full carrier detection, inactivity checking, ratio checking,
  55.       and increments the users total downloads, etc...
  56.     ■ Each file can have 10 description lines of 40 characters each
  57.     ■ Fully Multi-Line compatible no extra configuration needed
  58.     ■ Option to copy files from CD-ROM to hard drive before download
  59.     ■ Ability to add a text file to the comment portion of a ZIP
  60.     ■ Works with PcBoard, and reads the security levels, external
  61.       protocols and other configuration information for easy setup
  62.     ■ Has ability to check volume labels to find out which CD-ROM disks
  63.       are Online
  64.     ■ Users have ability to request files from offline CD-ROM disks

  79. are granted a limited license to use and share it under the following
  80. conditions:

  82. ■  RomDoor is not distributed in a modified form.
  83. ■  No fee is charged for RomDoor itself.
  84. ■  All references to the copyright and author are retained.
  85. ■  Use of premades are for Registered users usage only.
  86.    No profits nor mass duplications of PREMADES are allowed without
  87.    Specific written authorization from Advanced Software Concepts Inc.

  98. Normally, software distributed through bulletin boards systems or
  99. shared from one user to another does not carry a warranty, mainly
  100. because the author does not have control over the product and the
  101. program can be modified either intentionally or accidentally
  102. without the author's knowledge.

  104. With that in mind RomDoor has a limited warranty if you receive it
  105. directly from the author.  If the program was not received directly from
  106. the author then there is a chance that the the documentation or the program
  107. itself of having been modified.  In that case there is no warranty, and
  108. the author will not be liable for any damages, whether direct, indirect,
  109. special or consequential arising from a failure of this program to operate
  110. in the manner desired by the user.  The author will not be liable for any
  111. damage to data or property which may be caused directly or indirectly by
  112. use of the program.

  114.    - What is covered:  The RomDoor program will perform substantially
  115.         as described in this document.  In addition, while the program
  116.         may contain minor bugs or errors, it is warranted to be free
  117.         of major defects for a period of six months.  Diskettes received
  118.         from the author are guaranteed to be free of defects for a period
  119.         of six months from date of receipt.

  121.    - What is not covered:  The author will not be liable for incidental
  122.         and/or consequential damages, including injury to property,
  123.         interruption of service, loss of business and/or anticipated
  124.         profits, or other consequential damages that may result from use,
  125.         malfunction or failure of the RomDoor program, or from errors or
  126.         omissions in the documentation.  Some states do not allow the
  127.         exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages,
  128.         so the above limitation may not apply to you.

  130.      Any attempt to modify the RomDoor program will void this warranty
  131.      in its entirety.

  136.    - If there is a problem:  Within 60 days of notification that a major
  137.         defect exists, the author, at his discretion, will either fix the
  138.         program and forward the replacement at no cost to the registered
  139.         user, or will refund the registration fee.
  140.  
  141.      Defective diskettes will be replaced within 60 days at no cost
  142.         to the purchaser.
  143.  
  144.    - How to get service:  Send a written letter to the author detailing
  145.         the type of problem and symptoms experienced.  Include your name,
  146.         address, voice phone number and registration number and any
  147.         additional information that you believe may be useful, such as
  148.         any TSRs and disk cache programs in use.  The author may contact
  149.         you by voice or written letter for more information to help in
  150.         tracking down the problem.

  152. When trying new software, always backup any and all important files
  153. on your system.
