A. What is FIDXCONV.EXE
--------------------
This is a simple little program that reads your FIDX.DEF file and
makes another file just like the FIDX, but without the LIDX directory
numbers after each filename. This filename will then be the one that
you list on your HS/Link Command Line or in your HSLINK.CFG file for
HS/Link to check for Duplicate Uploaded Files.
This duplicate checking feature of HS/Link has been implemented as of 1.1B5
B. FIDXCONV Command Line
---------------------
The Command Line for FIDXCONV is as follows:
FIDXCONV <Path/Filename of your FIDX> <Path/Filename of HS/Link file to create>
An example would be:
FIDXCONV C:\RBBS\FIDX.DEF C:\RBBS\HSLINK\HSLINK.DEF
^ ^ ^
A B C
A. Program Name
B. FFS FIDX.DEF Path/Filename
C. HS/Link Filename listed on Command Line after the -NO paramter
If you just run the program name alone the defaults are:
FIDXCONV FIDX.DEF HSLINK.DEF
Now add to your HS/Link Command Line the entry:
-NOC:\RBBS\HSLINK\HSLINK.DEF (Or whatever filename you used
as the output filename in the
FIDXCONV command line)
Of course you could have this in your HS/Link Configuration File instead.
--------------------------
This program will also work with the FIDX system that uses the RFM Merges.
I hope this program helps everyone that uses HS/Link and RBBS FFS System.
