If you distribute just the .MRGs and an .EXE, each SysOp will still be
required to have a "vanilla" RBBS-PC system. That's what we're going
for - we want the user to realize that he is just getting a custom MOD
from you, not a whole new system. That should be enough to make him
realize where the bugs come from.
If your .EXE has the RBBS-PC version number (I assume it's based on
17.4) and then a MOD note in the VERSION$ variable, I don't have a
problem.

The above is a reply to me from Doug Azzarito concerning the distribution of
the BusiMod (tm) .EXE files. Please be advised of the following:
1. Doug has been gracious in granting us permission to distribute the
BusiMod (tm) modified .EXE files in order to save YOU, the SysOp, the
bother and work of recompiling the software in order to use the
BusiMod mods. PLEASE... Do NOT call Doug Azzarito's nor Ken Goosens
BBSes for support of the BusiMod modified RBBS code. The BusiMod modified
code is independently created from the base RBBS code. Doug and Ken are
not prepared to support the BusiMod mods, nor are they involved in their
developement. If you have any problems/suggestions/questions, please direct
them to the boards listed below.
2. You MUST have a copy of "vanilla" RBBS already running in order to make use
of the BusiMod modified .EXE files. Do NOT attempt to set up a BusiMod
modified RBBS from scratch. You will not know if your problems are related
to the BusiMod mods or setup problems with RBBS. This will lead to
confusion on your part and those who are here to support you.
3. You MUST also have a copy of the related merge files. The BusiMod mod
package comes in 3 files:
BMxxxx-A.ZIP - the modifications and documentation. This
includes the main mods, VBDOS mods and
the Special Editon mods (all built in) for
compatibiliy with RBatch.
BMxxxx-B.ZIP - .EXE files for 286 and up machines
BMxxxx-C.ZIP - .EXE files for 8088 and up machines
YOU MUST HAVE THE DOCUMENTATION AND ADDITIONAL SETUP FILES CONTAINED IN THE
BMxxxx-A.ZIP FILE!!!
