Mail Check Mod for RBBS v17.4a
Date: 10/19/92 - v1.0 initial release
A few of my users asked for this one. They were tired of people signing onto
their boards and bypassing the mail check when queried by RBBS. With this mod,
the SysOp can control whether a security level will automatically have their
mail scanned or will be prompted and, optionally, bypass the mail scan.
This mod requires a new parameter be added to the PASSWRDS file. This would be
the last parameter added (14th) and would be a 0 to allow the security level to
be prompted for a mail scan at sign on or 1 to force the mail scan at sign on.
This mod is very short and my recommendation is to install by hand. You can
also install this mod using Ken Goosens BLED v2.2. A batch file is included
to assist you using BLED. If you have any other mods installed which access
the same line numbers you MUST install this mod by hand.
You must also install a new variable in your RBBS-VAR.BAS file. This variable
is: ZDoMailCheck. A replacement RBBS-VAR.BAS file is included.
Files Included:
R-PCMAIL.MRG - merge for RBBS-PC.BAS
RSB1MAIL.MRG - merge for RBBSSUB1.BAS
RBBS-VAR.NEW - replacement for RBBS-VAR.BAS
MAIL174.BAT - batch file for installation
MAIL174.DOC - this document
PASSWRDS.REF - sample PASSWRDS file
