R-PCDESC.MRG - Extended Description Merge.
Copyright (C) 1993 By Benny Carr
v1.0 - 01/26/93 - original release
v1.1 - 01/31/93 - fix for line numbers
Legal Type Stuff
================
Copyrighted? Yes it is. I'm extending to you a limited license to
install and run this merge. You are also allowed to pass this merge
around to others, either on disk, or by posting on BBS systems. You
may modify, enhance, or do whatever you like to this merge, as long
as the modified version doesn't leave your system. In otherwords, you
may change this merge as you see fit, to suit your own needs, as long
as you then do not attempt to claim ownership of it by afixing your own
Copyright notice. Pretty much treat it the way RBBS-PC should be treated.
Share the unalterd, original version as you got it. Do what you want to
with the copy you run.
This merge can not be included in "Multi-Merge" type merges, or bundled
with anything else what so ever, without prior consent of the author.
Guarantee
=========
I don't think so. I only guarantee that it worked for me on my system,
in my particular environment. By using this merge, you the user, assumes
all liability and responsibility for any damages incurred.
Contents
========
What did you get in this archieve?
EXTDESC.TXT - I hope you got this because your reading it.
R-PCDESC.MRG - The actual merge.
DOIT.BAT - A batch file to apply this merge to stock .BAS.
FILE_ID.DIZ - A file that some BBS systems use as the
description for the uploaded file.
What Does It Do?
================
When a user uploads a file and selects Extended Description, this merge
will kick in. It alters the text prompting the user for the extended
description. Tells user how many lines they will get to enter the
extended description. Reminds them of the portion of the description
that they have entered so far, as line #1 of the File Description.
Following lines for description begin with the #2 and so on from there.
This merge is especially helpful to those running RBBS-PC systems that
do not allow input of the extended description until after the upload
is complete.
What To Do?
===========
Either merge this in with whatever method you normally use, or put
R-PCDESC.MRG, DOIT.BAT, BLED.EXE, and stock RBBS-PC.BAS in a directory
and run DOIT.BAT.
