  4. WARNING: THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL CHANGES TO THIS RELEASE OF USURPER.

  6. You MUST read all the .DOCs and .TXT files, so you will set up
  7. Usurper the right way. ALWAYS back up you USERS.DAT before upgrading
  8. to a new version of Usurper. There is a NEW FEATURE in the EDITOR menus,
  9. which allows you to edit the USURPER.CFG file ( Use the editor and edit
  10. your USURPER.CFG ). There are several new Sysop Options in the config. file,
  11. which makes usurper alot more versatile for you, the Sysop. You can now
  12. control the the games language and screens that display adult type theme.
  13.  
  14. You can run this version of Usurper in the local mode using: USURPER /L
  15.  
  16. NOTE #1 BACKUP your old USERS.DAT before performing this action!
  17.         Also read the WHATS.NEW file for more information about this
  18.         upgrade.
  19.                                                                                 
  20. NOTE #2 When upgrading to version 0.05+ I recommend that you use the
  21.         EDITOR.EXE program to (re)create your USURPER.CFG file!

  23. NOTE #3 From this version there is a archive called GAMEHELP.ZIP.
  24.         Read these help texts, if you encounter any problems with
  25.         the door.

  27. NOTE #4 Make sure you have a minimum of FILES=20 in your CONFIG.SYS
  28.  
  29. (1.) If you are upgrading from version 0.02, 0.03 or 0.04x :
  30.  
  31.         Copy the .EXE and .OVR files over the old ones.
  32.         Edit Usurper.CFG to conform with the new CFG
  33.         format. Use the Editor to create a configuration file,
  34.         or edit one by yourself with the help of SAMPLE.CFG.
  35.         You should now be able to play Usurper as normal.

  37. (2.) If you are upgrading from a version below 0.02 :
  38.  
  39.         You either have to reset the game or use CONVERT.EXE from
  40.         version 0.02 or below. CONVERT.EXE is included in a file
  41.         called 0FTO002.ZIP. * ONLY * use CONVERT.EXE if you are
  42.         upgrading from below 0.02. Don't use it if your are upgrading
  43.         from 0.02 and above. If you have to use the converter program,
  44.         follow the instructions above, after you have run it.
  45.
